Flint at his 2nd bite session (no footage of the 1st. Ignore the date of the video, his 1st session was probably a month ago.
And Flint on the sleeve for the first time about a week ago:
Short people problems happened lol
But I feel like the helper isn't... helping. Flint is not a high...
Does anyone else's doberman just shut down when they're wearing something? Flint lays around a lot more and is less excitable when he has either his sparkpaws pajamas on or even the newest addition to my arsenal of keeping my dog warm, the fleece sweater made by MeadowCat (I freaking love it!)...
Flint pacing... with me. He trots so nicely with other people. We just got out of a conformation class and he paced the whole time. Anyone know how to fix this? I have three different ladies who show their dobermans there and they can't get him to trot with me either.
You can see the white freckles on his cheek here. The white spots are where the ecollar is currently. Its usually higher on the neck but it slides sometimes.
I'm going to share an experience I had today. Flint is being introduced to a bite pillow. He does not bite hard on it like he does with a tug toy made of jute or a toy rope. He just kinda puts his teeth on it and soaks it, no tugging at all. Granted this toy is still very new, but I started to...
Flint has three little white freckles on his cheek and they've been there for some time. And I mean white fur, not bumps on skin. I also noticed he has two little white spots on his neck too. He didn't have these about 6 months ago. If I get into conformation, are they disqualifiers? He wasn't...
I don't have much useful input but I'm watching this. I would also like to know how to help, even beyond talking about it. Flint doesn't love gunshots, but I've taken him shooting with my husband and I. I can tell he's stressed out by it, but when I tell him to "down" he listens despite it. It...
I totally neglected this thread. Well we went to the assessment and the guy said Flint has potential but I have to encourage him to pull against the leash... which I have trained him for months to not do lol So I am trying to build his confidence to pulling against a harness, back-tie him, etc...
Well he had normal poop this morning even if it is a tad bloody still. I think we're okay if things are moving along as normal. I have his ecollar back on him after that incident. Bad Flint.
Flint snatched up a chicken wing off the grass on Monday. He had bloody diarrhea with a few solid pieces today. The day before, a solid normal poop about half the size of his typical amount, but its possible he pooped before that too and I didn't see it. He is acting normal. He eats, he drinks...
I'll keep everyone updated with how it goes. Whatever the result, I'm nervous. If he does well I feel I should try to do something with him that won't let his ability go to waste, which will be so expensive. But if he gets dismissed I will be so disappointed lol
Flint has been getting tummy issues with their bully sticks too, where before there were none. Flint doesn't care for cheek rolls anymore sadly. He's too lazy to put in the effort to chew them. I have no input on the cheek rolls.
Yeah I am just now discovering that these are genetic markers we can test for now. I don't know if Embark tests for them but I discovered this while looking for a... well not $200 way to test for the copper liver toxic... whatever, since embark doesn't just update their information and makes you...
