Would anyone be able to post a link for the type of zip tie to use for posting haha we all know me and I’ve only done the backer rod method but I would really like to try the zip tie method I just need a little help lol

@JanS ? I think you posted it for me. And can probably find it faster than me. 🤪 I did try that method a few times myself. If I find it before Jan or someone else, I will post it.

Which is easier lol backer rod or zip tie hahaha I just got him back up in his rods lol I feel like we’re going to have another Ares situation with the ear lol

Backer rod is definitely better and just as easy, IMO.
I think he has a bigger bell than Ares and it looks like they're already off to a good start.

Backer Rod... Interesting. I've heard of backer rod being used to help seal concrete cracks in the sidewalks. Or. so I had hoped. The theory being that you use sand, then backer rod, then the sealant, and that will keep weeds from cropping up, etc. But the backer rod is hard to work with. I think I'll use only the sand and sealant next time.

At least I now have a purpose for all this backer rod I bought... for posting, if/when I get my new next dobie. :D

Interesting and something I have not heard of. Around here they use it to fill larger gaps around windows or doors so we can get a multitude of different sizes.

Oh okay that's way different than the backer rod we use for ears.
It's called either backer rod or caulk saver.

It would seem they are the same thing.... just different sizes (the backer rod that is) In the video, the first part of the crack was rather narrow so a 1/2" to 1" backer rod would work there. I think you saw him put some in, if only temporarily. Now, the larger area of the crack would need a cropped version of the pool noodle. But the fact that your product is called "caulk saver" makes me think it's the exact same thing as my "backer rod." The primary objective of both being, "reduce the space in the crack so that very little sealant (caulk) is needed.

I just love how tolerant dobermans are.....and I love the little one who wanders in while she is posting
Thanks for sharing this!
