Whining with a chew

Simply, Flint whines when I give him something to chew. He carries it around, then lays down, chews, then whines at me. He doesn't want me to have it, but it's like he doesn't know what to do either.

He eventually does scarf it down, but I'd like to know why he started doing this. Any insight? A pig snout was the latest offender and he's had them before. This one was dried out and raw. Does that make a difference from cooked ones?

Elroy whines when he gets something he really likes. It's almost like he's so happy that he's all emotional about it. LOL
He doesn't do it as much now, but when he was younger it was all the time.

Yes, Kaiser would pace and whine and I always thought it was because he didn't know what to do with it, like he was experiencing pressure lol - should I eat the whole bag of chips or just one LOL. Maybe it is also a trust thing regarding whether I would take the chew away because he isn't interested in it in that moment. If K would whine too much, I'd take it away and return it to him when quiet. Nowadays he doesn't do it because he trusts he'll get the item back when he wants it, so we do a 'trade'. I don't give him the option to 'trade' with anything but his chews.

It's almost like he's so happy that he's all emotional about it. LOL

I haven't ever thought about it like this, but it makes sense and it does describe how Kaiser used to be with anything high value like a bully stick type of chew.
