European Hypertypes

Sasha is 3/4 Euro. She is 26.5” tall and 73# at 2 yrs old. I don’t think most buyers really know or understand breed standards. They just like Doberman appearances and like big dogs. And I agree. That is a Great Dane head.

I agree with you 100%. No these dogs do not look okay to me. Yes I find them too big. Not only too big but they've lost all their athleticism, muscle tone and probably couldn't compete in any type of competitive sports. They do look like Great Dane crosses, nothing what the standard calls for.

I've had my say, I apologize to anyone who has or wants this type of dog. I know we all have different ideas of what we want in our personal dogs, but responsible breeders will not ever stretch type to suit buyers.

It's good to know that not everyone in Europe agrees that this is a good thing. Also, the true working IGP3 Dobermans from European countries are still normal size, hard muscled athletic dogs doing what they were bred to do. These Hypertypes seem to be a fad and are becoming more & more popular here in the U.S.

Agree. I've run across reference to DoberDanes.
Not sure the point, other than "big scary".

To my mind the only good reason to outcross is to reduce the incidence of DCM and reduce the COI...

Plenty of shelter dogs that need a home...but thats just me, my $0.02 and ymmv

I'm done with this hypertype stuff.

Thousands of likes and people leaving comments saying how beautiful these dogs are. Even stating this is how a true Dobermann should look like.

This breed is getting destroyed.




Makes me want to cry seeing what they are doing just for money.

Just assume have a Rott or Cane Corso.

Nothing swift or agile about those Dobermans.

If they did a backwards somersault like Freyja does catching ball, they would for sure tear an ACL.

I totally agree with you. The FCI standards are slightly bigger but all Dobermanns should be bred within the breed standard. None of this breed should be over 100# regardless where they came from and I know quite a few who have passed at way too early an age from different health issues that were never tested for before breeding.

I have had this conversation in a few Doberman groups recently. The FCI standard is very close to the AKC standard if not slightly less in weight. FCI for makes 88lbs to 99lbs, AKC for males 75lbs to 100lbs.
The height is very close as well the top for FCI males is 28.35". AKC for males 28".
Someone said their Eruo dogs ,which they were breeding without testing and no kennel name ,which also had Di Altobello in what pedigree they had were 135 lbs and lanky. He told me the FCI standard was wrong and a joke. They said, well maybe way back then ,but now the Doberman was changed. I told him the purpose of the Doberman has not changed. And I hear the exact same thing from everyone breeding out of standard Dobermans, " The FCI standards are a joke and wrong".

YES! Exactly that, they always say the FCI is a joke.
They call American Dobermans "greyhound like dogs" which I find pretty offensive.
They seem to focus on getting Dane like muzzles, and chests so big they might as well explode.

The first pic I posted is a dog from Hunter's breeder. We are all trying to prove that Hunter is dead, he wasn't even 5 years old, and most likely died to DCM, having had 90+ offsprings.
His awful breeder denies it, yet can't update on Hunter...
If you guys don't know who Hunter is, please look it up, he's the hypertype "standard" to these awful breeders.
The breeder is called erdemayaz I think? He blocked me everywhere lol.

I'm afraid they would suffer from a heart attack way before they could even try to jump or run, they ain't got nothing on Freyja lol.
I've seen super healthy Corsos and Rottweilers here, able to run run run and not get tired, unlike these so called "Dobermans".

Until people quit wanting this type breeders will keep producing them. Demand for the type keeps these $greeder$ going.

All my previous photos were of males, now this is a female hypertype.
Just look at that chest, what the hell is that?!
She's been bred multiple times, and has multiple conformation/show titles. @Ravenbird I think I need a barf bag too.
