I agree with you 100%. No these dogs do not look okay to me. Yes I find them too big. Not only too big but they've lost all their athleticism, muscle tone and probably couldn't compete in any type of competitive sports. They do look like Great Dane crosses, nothing what the standard calls for.
I've had my say, I apologize to anyone who has or wants this type of dog. I know we all have different ideas of what we want in our personal dogs, but responsible breeders will not ever stretch type to suit buyers.
It's good to know that not everyone in Europe agrees that this is a good thing. Also, the true working IGP3 Dobermans from European countries are still normal size, hard muscled athletic dogs doing what they were bred to do. These Hypertypes seem to be a fad and are becoming more & more popular here in the U.S.
