FINALLY! The dogs were outside and ran a squirrel up one of the trees right by the house and Kali KNEW where it went for once! I told you, the squirrels hate being cornered up in a tree where they cannot jump from tree to tree. This one did not stay long and oh my God, almost did not end well. Excuse my screaming and French!

Looks like he had fun and wow is he growing! Do you know how much he weighs now?

If you've ever had a horse, you might know that they will do a silly sounding snort whenever they feel threatened or scared. It's to make them sound big and scary. I'm not even sure how they do it, but it almost sounds like an intake of breath.

In any event, I had gone out to the corral when I saw them running around. I always make sure they are okay whwn they do because there's usually a reason. My husband was already out there.

So I go out there with my camera (phone) running and this happens....

I about peed my pants I was laughing so hard! It just sounded so funny when its right in your face!!

Watermelon seems to be a delightful treat for chickens and horses alike! I gave my horses watermelon the other day and again last night. This time I took a little video. We had just brought them inside for the night when it started pouring rain again. They all got some and love it!

I didn't know horses liked watermelon! Never tried for Hunter. Now I'll have to see. He looooves peppermints, carrots, and apples of course ;)

Unfortunately I haven't had horses in my life, they are such beautiful animals.
What is the fabric?/thing for which they sometimes have their eyes covered with, is that against flies?

It's a fly mask! To keep the flies and gnats out of their ears and eyes. I've been asked that question before and I'm always surprised. I guess when you're so used to something you don't realize that others have never been exposed to that sort of thing. But yes, it's just a way of keeping flies and gnats off your horse.

Or they could look like this.

Not my pictures. My horses would never look like that! LOL. It drives me nuts when I see a fly in their eyes! And the gnats and black flies can be just as bad. They will congregate in their ears and suck blood just like a mosquito. Nasty little suckers!

When spring starts, we go without the masks until the bugs start appearing. And you wouldn't believe how the horses know what those masks are! There are times when I haven't started using them yet and I'll look outside and see them stomping and shaking their heads. I know that the Flies are finally here and they are being bothered. I go running out there and grab the masks and when I go into the Corral they all come up to me and bow their heads like, "put that thing on me!" They know what it's for! They love it!
