Having two Dobermans/dogs

How can anyone be so lazy and careless not to clean up behind their dogs?!?
I clean up behind mine every time they take a dump. Nothing worse than stepping in dog poop especially when it isn’t your own dogs.
Nasty people!!

We have lived in some of the most "touristy" type places in the US...and one thing is always the same...they keep the economy thriving..yes...but for locals who have to live with their attitude:

That was the attitude of the prick shooting off illegal fireworks on NYE.
When he said FU and what are you going going to do about it. I called the Deputies on them and I called the property Mgmt company that rented to them. One guy was arrested and they all got kicked out of the house.

Every once in a while you win one against the tourists. Lol

Double the entertainment value...

It doesn't matter how many toys you have the one who ain't got...will want what the other one has..got. We spent a good hour doing the "it's my bone now...you walked away" stuff. They started to get snippy with each other and I could tell they were warming up...to go to faux battle...so I took the bone and all the toys and put them away in the toy basket.

The routine here is...meds at 8 p.m....then bed..and they know this...so we got the meds done.... started tucking in for the night.

Both chose the sofa tonight. We had some four legged toddler
"He's touching me!"
"MA..make him get on his side!!"
"HE'S BREATHING ON ME!!"
back and forth hind legs kicking at each other for a few minutes..and then both settled....they started snoring...and I was thinking..
"OKAY time for Ma's dirty double martini or at the very least a cup of tea I can finish before it gets cold cuz the toddlers won't let me drink a hot ANYTHING".

About the time I started to get up and get the tea made...Bam got up to stretch and shift...and WHAM Mo was off the sofa like a lighting bolt....and at the toy basket.....AFTER the bone...that had been the prize all night. He was so damned fast coming off the sofa he spooked both Bam and me.

He snatched that bone out of the basket and I said
MO! NO! .....
He dropped it and looked at me....with a look that said....I swear if he could talk ..he would said...

"OH WOW..where am I?? I think I was sleep walking!!! Yeah Ma..I was sleep walking!!!!!!"
By this time Bam had settled back down on the sofa...I pointed the bed area...Mo walked over and dropped down into one of the floor beds with a HUGE thump..like he was still trying to convince me..he was sleep walking.

OMG....my life was SOOO flippin boring before these two moved in!!!

I am prob a bad dog momma. Lol.
I have 4 dogs.
Schnauzer female. 10 yrs/ 13 lbs
Chi male. 6 yrs/8 lbs
Chi male 4 yrs/9 lbs
Dobie male /nearly 5 months old

working at home now so with them 24/7 last 4-5weeks.
However, they have full run of downstairs always. Doggy door open 24/7 leads out to screened in with full access to fenced in yard.

toys. Everywhere. No one has ever chewed on anything else in my house except for their toys!
The dobie has a few accidents in the house every once in a while but everyone else goes outside to do their business.

i let them get on the couches and patio furniture and beds.

the Dobe is obsessed with my male 5 yr old chi so I will separate them after a while because the Dobie will not focus on anything when that Chihuahua is around. Plus he Doesn’t know his strength and I’m afraid he may play too hard and swat him or playbite him!

all get along well. Female puts them all in their place when they try to mount her. Everyone is fixed except for the Dobie


I am just lucky with them all!

“Too much dog for me to handle” - well, bonus points for honesty? The age too, the Dober teens probably pushed her over the edge. Plus 4 kids, lol, way too much going on, and all this in the middle of a pandemic. Recipe for disaster! BUT this could be the ideal opportunity seeing as how the Rescue route was difficult last time.

I’d get on the phone with her and find out what other habits the dog has. Is she a destroyer or an escape artist? Does she pull on walks? Is she spayed - for her health sake, hopefully not, but that also means you have THAT expense to take on.

Let us know what you find out!

Wow, actively searching? Do you think they may push for this to happen?

The Dobe is a dainty, feminine looking bitch with nice markings. She has more bell on the ear than I like, and there's a possibility that the right ear is cut longer than the left.

Have your ladies been thinking about a 2nd even before the pandemic?

Do you think that once life returns to normal they will have/take time to give the bitch what she needs? Will your daughters lose interest after a while of owning her?

Will Ragnar be benefitted by the addition? Are you prepared for your yard to become trashed, and to an extent your house interior?

I'm sure you've already thought of these things.

The seller/giver touts how much money she's spent on her. Will she be charging money to the adopter?

Lol, I also noticed that. At only 7 months old, that’s just the tip of the iceberg

But good point, she may charge a ‘rehoming fee’ - if you’re inclined to offer her something, I’d negotiate the amount in person only and be prepared with a list of expenses that she would be avoiding.

yes- they have been looking for awhile.

yes- they enjoy what train. Meaning they reap the benefits from me doing most of the training.

yes- they all would love and care after this is all said and done

no- they would not lose interest, they all fight over Ragnar

not for sure- how Ragnar would react, he is really attentive to me and wonder how he would do sharing?.?.?

prepared- not really for sure, I would for sure hope the next one does not have the high drive that Ragnar has. Would really be up shit creek if I had two like Ragnar.

I am not actively looking, kinda think about it from time to time.... if they found one and it seem a good situation, I would have a hard time turning it down.

They may not help or participate in the training but they all do actively help with everything else.

I really have no idea how anyone with more than one of these donkey psycho dogs does it. So I was on the phone with my credit card due to a fraud alert. Like that’s the last damn thing I need to happen right now. The entire time Kaiser is barking at god knows what through the window (boredom, because the little prince needs all the attention!) so then I take him down into the basement and he proceeds to climb into the tub and knock things off the shower wall shelves. Meanwhile they’re asking a thousand test questions to “make sure it’s me” and I’m answering them while using my foot to push on Kaiser’s butt cheek so he gets out of the tub. Do you think he notices that while he’s busy knocking shampoo bottles around the tub like it’s a jolly ball Then I almost lose my balance and my damn flip flop falls off and Kaiser runs away with it. Just as I finish the call, Kaiser curls up and goes to sleep. As I finish typing this, he’s snoring

I've had a male and a female Doberman together since '98 without problems. The new dog is brought into the house as a puppy after an old dog dies. I've been very lucky that none of them play slam games as some do. For the past fourteen years, there's been Shelties in the house. They don't really play together, but our current Sheltie Sabrina will run after the Dobermans as they play together. Sabrina also forms strong bonds with the male Dobermans. All the females of both breeds were spayed and most of the males were intact.

If that happens it's on the owner not the dogs. I've had 2, sometimes 3 dobes in my house for 20 years. The yard looks great and so does the house, yes even the wood floors.

This is a main walk way in our living room. The floors were refinished in 2008 and still look great!
