Critters and wildlife in your area - post your pics

How did he manage this? He didn't bite it or swallow it but brought it inside to play with it?
He has such a big mouth that he just holds them in there. He normally doesn't play with them after he gets them in but just lets them go. He put the one in that pic on the couch under the blanket so I watched TV for a few hours with it sitting right next to me.
I have since started giving him treats before he comes in the door so I know if he has something. LOL

What is it with toads?! I got a hand full of slobbery toad the other night after Kaizer found one on our walk. It was dark but I knew he had snatched up *something* so I just grabbed for his face and he spit out a slimey slobber covered toad! Fortunately it was completely fine. He almost got another one tonight but I saw it before he could get it LOL. I really can't imagine toads taste good, especially since the pee out of self defense, but yet, he's now the second dog I've had the is fascinated by the and tries to pick them up.

We were at our sons place for his youngest son's 1st Birthday party! What a blast we had! About 40 people and a ton of kids. They live on 5 acres with a creek in the back and they had fishing poles for all the kids.....including this big weirdo kid! :wacky: LOL! Yes, believe it or not, this was my first caught fish!!!! I think I may have gone fishing once when I was a kid. I can barely remember it now because it was so long ago, but I never caught anything!

I think everyone there caught at least one fish each so I had to give it a try. My daughter-in-law handed me a pole and we whipped it out on the creek. While she was giving me a few seconds of instruction, she looks out at the creek and says, "Where's your bobber??" We had a fish already!!!! At that point, I didn't even know which way to reel the line! So I handed her the pole!! lol It was a nice Blue Gill!!

So after that, I was determined to catch and reel one myself!! Probably an hour and a half later, I'm still fishing! :tap: The Father-in-law probably caught 4 more while I was catching nothing! I said I'm staying here until I catch something, damn it!! Everybody eventually walked back to the house while I stayed. I was determined to get something (and having fun throwing that line actually :) ) I would NOT bait it myself and actually had to look away while that poor worm was put on a hook. :bag: (Now I remember why I don't fish lol ) but I just wanted to feel that fish on a line for once in my life!

So my son and his father-in-law and a couple people stopped back to see how I was doing but eventually decided to leave again. I said, "If you hear me screaming, come back!!!! I'm not taking that thing off the hook and I don't want it to die, so hurry back if you hear me!"

They were on a golf cart and had JUST pulled away, when I thought I felt a tug. Could that be the bait dragging on the ground again?? or is that a fish??? Pretty soon the pole was bending and I was screaming!!! "I got one!!! HEYYYYYYYYYY I GOT one!!!!!!" Where we were fishing wasn't like a beach to the water, but more of a ledge and a drop off. :wideyed: There was a second little 'ledge' to get closer to the water but it wasn't very big and one slip and you could slip in. When I realized I caught something and got all excited, I almost lost my footing and stepped backward (and fell) to avoid falling in! LOL!! All the while trying to hold the damn pole and screaming! Got that picture in your head!? :spit: I left the fish somewhat in the water while I waited for someone to help me because I didn't want it to die. So around the corner, here walks my daughter-in-laws brother casually saying, "I thought I heard you screaming." To which I answer, "And you didn't come RUNNING!!!???" Eventually, my son and his FIL arrive too and everyone's happy I fiiiiiinally caught something!!

The brother takes it off the hook and I said, "Wait, lemme get a picture!" And he says, "Oh, no, YOU hold it and let ME takes the picture!" He told me later that he was really surprised when I grabbed it! lol Actually I just wanted to get the thing back in the water as quick as possible! :p

My daughter-in-law just texted me this photo! Referring back to my last post with the fishing, this is the bluegill that I unexpectedly caught LOL She just threw the line in and Bam, we call the Fish! I forgot that that she took a picture of me and her dad holding it. He's kinda pretty! The FISH, not her dad! :p

I caught some video of the fox barking this morning but she was sitting behind a bush so you couldn't see her. That shrill bark is enough to drive you up a wall...

Now imagine having one in your house :D they make a LOT of crazy noises. Mine did that, had a more dog like bark, meowed, sounded like a howler monkey, chattered, etc. He was by far the noisiest (and smelliest!) critter in the house!

I don't even know what a fox sounds like! lol They always seem so timid around here. That's a very interesting 'bark'!

That gecko is adorable!

Under The Apple Tree. You better not be eating my apples!
