Ok what is that Jan, I can't tell from the picture. Raccoon?This guy was in the top of an Aspen tree early this morning and I caught one of him as he was coming back down. They're pretty nocturnal so I suppose it was bed time.

I had a hard time seeing it clearly when I blew it up. I guess because we don't have porcupines that did not even register with me.Not a raccoon. I'd say porcupine.

Yes it's a porcupine and we have lots of them here. It was way up there so that's the best my 70 - 200 lens could do.
Here's one in our wood shed from a year or so ago and they still like it in there. Gee, I wonder why?
