So here's Zippo, 7 months, ears are standing great. I just want to fix a few kinks before I call it quits.

I'm happy with HIS left ear, just trying to smooth out the bottom with thicker posts which has been working.

As for his right ear, you can see how the top is leaning in a bit (I do not use a bridge, haven't in a long time)

What can I do to correct this? Pictures were taken right after taking posts down and him waiting for a treat (really focused and at attention) will this (the leaning in) work itself out once he's out of posts or is there something I should do?

Looking great. A narrower post will bring that forward. It's actually normal to get a tilt inward like that at the very tip. You could just half post him at this point as his bases don't need support.

I don't have anything to add to what Archer said but they're looking pretty good and you should be able to correct it with the advice you got above.

IMG_2523.webp IMG_2524.webp Just need to do a little rant. I posted this on Facebook posting help page and these are the responses I get. I'll be sticking to just posting here.

It is an unusual crop, but as long as YOU like it, that's really all that matters. I think he's adorable. There are soooo many different types of crops out there. No single one is "right", though some are preferred in the show ring (or used to be, dunno about currently) and there are a lot of different preferences out there. Looks to me like the one commenter is just trying to get you riled up. Anyone familiar with Dobes knows those ears are definitely cropped. Anyone familiar with the dogs for that matter. The point is a dead give away. Kinda reminds me of a beauceron crop.

It's tough to tell from the pics but are you taping the ear fold back?
I just took the bottom part of the tape off to double check, you had me paranoid haha. The crease is indeed taped over, how do I explain this, if it was folded flat out, the fold would extend as if it's getting closer to the outside edge of the ear correct? If the flap is stayed flap it would stay near the top of the head?

Didn't mean to make you paranoid, I do everything from my phone so sometimes it's tough to tell even when I blow it up. The fold, the part that is at the top of their head, the part that was not cropped, should be folded back , away from the post. I don't know if I'm explaining myself clearly maybe someone else can jump in.

Nope you explained it perfectly, it does look like that in the picture, maybe my last posting I accidently taped it folded out.

I don't think it's a bad crop at all and once they smooth out and stand straighter it will be a nice longer medium crop. I think we could also get a better idea if you get down to his eye level to take the photo so we're not looking at it from above.

awww thus my love/hate relationship with the internet. I posted a picture on a raw feeding site of my boy having dinner and he was wearing *HEAVEN FORBID* a prong collar in the picture *GASP* how DARE I subject my dog to such cruelty!!

He will grow into his ears. Here's a picture of Rubie after we came back from vacation and the boarding place totally ignored my instructions on her ears. I was devastated. Thought it would stay like this forever. Luckily they're pretty forgiving if you just stick with posting. Pull those ears up nice and straight!
