I wish we had them around here. I tried to order some and they hatched just fine but I just don't think they can survive our climate.This guy decided to visit my backyard

We have so many deer around here and most of them had twin fawns. The neighbor down the road had a six foot chain link fence put up all around their property to keep the deer out of their garden. At the cost of the fence, it would have been cheaper to buy the vegetables and it looks like some sort of "prison".
Yes chain link would be pretty pricey. We bought the 7' heavy duty deer fence and it's been holding up well and it's not real visible unless it gets covered with snow.
Are those white tails? They look a little different than what we see around here.

Our veggie garden where we lived years ago got increasingly fortified by me until I did call it the veggie prison. The wild animal that necessitated all that? My wife's Husky.
Tonight's late-night walk found Oji poking a large Praying Mantis. Unfortunately I had left my phone at home. So how about this little guy? Anybody know what kind of insect this is? I don't, but I've seen them before. This pic was taken on a bike ride while I was on the sidewalk eating some sandwich.
I only know that because my dad owned a farm. He had this kit he put together. It was an old tackle box he put together with tools to take his grandkids exploring on the farm. There were things like a magnifying glass, a net to scoop things out of one of the ponds, binoculars and a few books so they could identify what they found.
That one particular stuck in my mind because I was surprised to find out it was a moth. Interesting to me because it rolls up it wings unlike most moths.

Wow, imagine that! I thought it was a beetle on first glance. Neat...though bagworms give me the heebie jeebies seeing their nests.
