That's awesome! You should get one for Java to wear when she does it. I've been wanting one for a long time now, but then I wonder if the novelty would wear off after a few times.
There is one in the beginning of the clip where they are not thrown a toy, but rather jump to grab a stationary bar-like thing and take it down with them. I was really surprised and wondered how they even teach that? I mean, how the heck to you get the dog to realize what you want them to do there? The elevated toy (Fetch-It) definitely helps the dog build the muscle memory and learn how to jump appropriately.

That just looks like so much fun for the dogs. Thanks for sharing!
Oh yeah! I almost forgot to mention that this year will be the first year UAD is having it's big finals for the end of the year at Purina Farms in MO. They've grown substantially in the past few years enough that they've had to make qualifier events and move the finals to somewhere that could support the event and somewhere in the middle of the country for ease of travel. I saw that and immediately thought of you. I'm not sure Java will make it lol but maybe one day with a future dog (doberman) we will get to see the beautiful grounds and maybe meet up!
Ahhh, now that makes a lot of sense! Now I get it! Thank you! Great explanation! The arm can move along the pool so when teaching they move it right up to the dog and tip it down towards the dock, wiggling the toy in front of the dog.

Lol I'm gonna try to find a place this summer for dock diving for Ares lol he'd be good at it the boy loves water and will jump in the pool no with no problem or hesitation.
Wow thank you !!!!That'll be fun! I believe UAD is on the west coast right now. Seems they typically do events there and in the South during this time of the year since the summer will be hotter than heck out there.
UAD is in Long Beach today through the weekend with open spots: Ultimate Air Dogs - The World's Premier Dock Jumping Organization
Tell them this is your first event and they'll take good care of you! They are super nice and like family. You can either choose to jump and they'll use the time to teach or you can do practice jumps without competing.
You are very welcome! That timing right? Haha.Wow thank you !!!!
Hahaha exactly ! I think I'll sign him up for the one in two weeksYou are very welcome! That timing right? Haha.
