Is it some sort of divine sign?

Today was a rather unusual day.
How often does one help their daughter move into her own place?
There’s Doberman content here, Bear with me.

My daughter is making the move.Out.
My mom..😇
Reached out to a friend of hers, knowing she has a storage unit full of of basic living pieces she pays storage on every month and things didn’t go the way she thought so, the storage is free for the pickings and we will help her clear it.

This gal that owns the storage...

The first Doberman I ever knew, was hers.
She planted the seed.
This was the mid 70s
Her Dober was named after Nadia Comenci the Romanian gal that kicked so much ass in the Gymnastics Olympic games.
In 1980 when Nadia won 2 gold in the Russian games? Nadia the Doberman and I were already well acquainted.
This was a dog that walked with no leash, never broke her heal, no matter the squirrel, cat, rabbit, etc. There’s a lot more to that story I’ve told here before. The ex, the dog putting the ex into a bark and hold after some shit happened.
She was the real deal.

So.
I’m home after, garage door open.
Im moving a few things out of the truck I’m in the driveway, organizing straps and rachet straps.

From the garage I hear Millie, she’s shifted into full warmonger mode😳

From behind me I hear dog nails on concrete😳😳

I go at Millie. Close the garage door, locking her away, and she’s can not engage.

Turn to see?

An about 2 year? By the white teeth and tight coat, Red, intact, Docked but not cropped Red Doberman.😯

My garage door closure wasn’t complete and Millie was about to slip under it and advance on the boy.
So I tend to the door, get her back, turn and he is gone?😐

Walk down the driveway and don’t see him.
And an SUV I don’t recognize is coming slow.
I ask you looking for a dog?

Yep!
And there he is.
At the corner of the drive behind a shrub, hiking a leg on the same shrub Rocky leaves a message on😂

The red boy is skittish a little, but following his nose. Up into my yard.

I did what I know.
I sat down on my ass and looked away from him.

His owner is approaching.
The boy came right to me and sniffed me up. I said Hi and gently reached to him and grabbed his collar, then handed him off to his owner.

I explained to the guy he came here, of all places? Because we have 2 of them. He came to a familiar scent.
Of any neighbor with who knows how many breeds or mixes, he came here.

I didnt even bother to mention to the guy.
The significance of a random Doberman, coming up to me, today of any day?

What are the odds?
Helping out the introductory person of the breed today, a random one just comes trotting up into my driveway the same day?

Wow that is indeed interesting. I think you're going to be a Doberman person for life.

I can’t say I haven’t thought about the after Rocky time when it comes. The boy is 12😐

Sometimes I think maybe we should check out the Rottweiler breed. We’ve had great times with them through family friends.

Sometimes I think maybe we should just take a break for a while, give Millie a spoiled life and time things down.

I can’t say this whole experience didn’t spark a belief its a Doberman sign.
And as painful as it will be, and as much as I’ll bleed😂
I think if we go the Doberman route again, I want a puppy.
We’ve done Doberman puppy, We’ve done 2 Doberman this is your new home with us experience.
There was the non Dober Maxie the wonder dog experience before that, she was a mutt with puppy teeth when we “got” her😉😉
(There’s a story😂)

It’s not easy to put to words the difference between taking in a dog, and bringing in a pup.
Dogs, come with some sort of pre disposed view. Sometime good, sometimes not.
(Rocky was a dog that never got on a bed in the house unless he was directed to do so, as a positive) sometimes they come with some baggage they need coaxing through.
Sometimes that baggage is hard to shake.
Rocky again is an example here.
Hates car travel.
He was relinquished 3 times in 16 months.
He associates car travel with bad news.

A bunch to consider here, I’m still trying to work my way through it, if you guys can’t tell😂

See, I can relate to that. We haven't had a puppy since 1995. We got Buddy at 7 months old. Even Kali was 5 months old when we adopted her. And Buddy was the best dog ever! But he did come with a little baggage. One, being like Rocky, he hated car travel. He was never really comfortable in the car. And I can never get him to just jump up into a vehicle like I did my first Doberman. But then I didn't take him a lot of places either. Being out here, when you go to the town, it's a trip! It's a long way so you make a lot of stops. And some places don't allow dogs. And I would never leave my dogs in the car. Ever. That's just me. So he didn't have as many opportunities as my first Doberman, who I took a lot of places with me. I did a lot of traveling with our business and I just took him with me.

And Buddy had a few fears. It was not a god-awful thing or even something that you had to worry about like fear biting or something. He just was timid. He was a softy. It worked out great with the grandkids because I never had to worry about him. Ever. He was a lover boy. But he wasn't very 'bold.' For me that worked out perfect at this time in our life.

After losing him I just figured we were too old to start again and who can replace Buddy? Well crap, that brought tears. Let me try and continue...

but I always thought, like you, that if I ever did it again, I kind of would like to have it be a puppy. I just figured that would never happen. Until it did. ❤️ No regrets. 😁

Maybe it was one of your past Dobers that came back to say hi.

It's been 6-7 years since our boys Stryker and Yago have passed. Never have had a dream about them until last week. All I remember is that they were running around with other dogs. It made me feel good. But I wish I hadn't woken up so soon.
