The camera died halfway so the woman that was filming it did the rest with her camera and hasn't sent it to me yet. So the video will come later.

Bring!
IMG_5112.jpg

IMG_5114.jpg

He spat out the dumbbell at Pat's feet. He has NEVER done that before. Only thing we could think of, he's never seen, smelled, or tasted the trial dumbbell set before. Pat was able to get him to pick it up and bring it to front like he was supposed to.

The dog before him pooped on the field and though they tried to clean it up the smell temporarily distracted him.

He did pick it up and bring it back but brought it around the jump (10/15 points)

Setting up for retrieve over the wall. The crowd was really distracting for him. Talking to Gary later he said we set up the obstacles too close to the crowd.

Go!
IMG_5150.jpg

We couldn't believe it but after only 2 days of working on the send-away using the 3 tennis ball method he did it! And did it really well! He did curve and got caught up running so his down was delayed.
IMG_5153.jpg

IMG_5155.jpg

But he did down so exercise complete!

Best part of trialing, a critique to help you know what to work on for next time.

They passed! Just barely getting the minimum 70 points but they passed! He is now White Sage's Spock, BH, OB1

Congrats all around

So proud of my guys!

Congratulations to you, Spock and Pat, you must be utterly thrilled. You've trained Spock marvellously. Spock's must be viewed as an ambassador for all Dobermanns in the US to show that amongst a Shutz world dominated by Mals, GSD's etc that there are still some Dobes that CAN and will work ;)

Great photo's and aren't photos great! you can look back and relive the moment again and again. Don't forget to update your profile with Spocks achievements (or is Spock Pats dog when it comes to working?)

So what's next?

Congrats, what a great accomplishment. I wouldn't worry about the score at this point, it was just good experience getting out there and competing. Pat and Spock can work on all the technical stuff and worry about scores when they go for there Sch 1.

I was just looking back over your pics and just have to ask, how do you get or train such an attentive dog? Do they have to grow out of a puppy stage or what? Sophie started with basic obedience, and I'm no stranger to having trained dogs, but your Spock looks amazing. I'm jealous.:)
