Reputable Breeders near Idaho

Oh lord someone stop me.

I'm not looking for another puppy just yet necessarily, but I would like to know if there are any other decent breeders in or near Idaho (states touching preferred, but definitely at least no further than Texas). I don't have the money or the mental stamina for another pup right now, as Flint is only 16 months, but I think once he gets close to crossing the rainbow bridge I'd like to have good information and a few good breeders in mind to be put on a waiting list for a 2nd doberman. Maybe an American female, as Flint has taught me that even though I wanted a 100% euro doberman... no I didn't. His measly 40% "pushy crackhead" has been enough for me thanks lol. He's been a wonderful dog with many lessons to teach. I am forever grateful. But still, I'd like my next doberman to be a little less Tasmanian Devil.

I know of Ket Ayling, but she breeds very rarely, so I'd like to have others that I can reach out to when the time comes. Thank you!

Wow, talk about thinking ahead! lol At 16 months I think he is a long way away from that bridge. At least I hope so. But it's always good to have a plan! Hopefully someone can help you put it in effect.

I wanted a 100% euro doberman... no I didn't.

In the early days (ok, maybe it was the first 3 years) of having Kaiser, I would always think NO ONE NEEDS A EURO! Although I have warmed up to him LOL, the energy is a lot to deal with. In a fantasy world, I would pair a black female American with Kaiser. Their more delicate beauty next to the very masculine look of a Euro male. Maybe you should get one sooner I also think Prima Dobermans has lovely looking Dobermans.

That's why I think a South American is a nice balance between the two. Not too delicate like some NA's are these days and not as bulky as many Euros.

Whatever you do don't use Roberto Zorzi of Del Littorio kennel in Snohomish, Washington. I just got a puppy a month ago from him. He showed me clear Embark Health tests for his kennel. I just got my puppies results and she has DCM and Von Wilderbrandt high risk and a notable ALT.

Embark doesn't tell you much of anything, except genetic markers. All reputable breeders should have physical tests done on the parents before they even considering breeding.

Embark Markers for DCM don't mean that she "has DCM". Many dogs have markers and never get DCM and many dogs don't have the markers and get it anyway. The only way I can explain it is that humans have over 50 markers for congenital heart disease, so far only 4 markers are found associated with DCM in Dobermans. So having 2 of them often means nothing. With vWB, a carrier is totally asymptomatic, meaning your dog doe not have the actual disease but mated with another carrier could produce puppies with it. If she is listed as affected she could have problems, but usually not life threatening IF YOU KNOW and you tell your vet. The ALT is just something to keep a watch on, again, let your vet know of the embark results so they are aware. None of these test results are a negative against the breeder (I have no connections to that breeder whatsoever), If you use the Search button here, there are many discussions about all three of these diseases. Hope this lightens your stress load after getting your Embark test back. Depending on the details, she is likely the same as most of ours here.
