Its not as hard as you think once you get going with it. At first you will think so!!!!!!!!
AresMydobie feeds Raw and some others on this site.
We have been feeding Raw for about 4 1/2-5yrs now.
Basic starting out rule is feeding 80% muscle meat, 10% various Organs and 10% Bone. Then also adding a good Omega 3 Fish Oil. Not all Oils are created equal. Each meal doesn't have to be balanced. But over a period of 3-4 days is good. We also add some Dark Greens like Spinach, Chard and Kale. But these and other plants need to put through a blender like a
nutribullet for a few minutes. This will help break down the cell walls of the plant material. Dogs have a hard time breaking down plants. This can also be done by lightly steaming them. But anytime you heat something up its starts to destroy good things enzymes, amino acids and vitamins in the plants or even meats. You can also add fruits like Blueberries and other veggies.
Most people start with chicken.
Once you get going you should feed and rotate between at least 3 meat proteins. Also various organs (Heart, Liver, Kidneys, Lungs, pancreas and Tripe from these sources. So maybe like chicken for a few days, then beef for a few and then turkey. You can do more proteins if you want. Also Raw Organic eggs and shells.
Join some Raw Feeding groups on Facebook and Yahoo groups
This is an easy way, but more expensive, but a good way to start out your raw feeding.
You can feed from various pre made sources like Primal, Stella and Chewy, Brovo, Answers Pet Foods, Northwest Naturals, Steves Real Foods and Vital Essentials are only some.
These come in frozen raw, dehydrated and freeze dried raw forms.
There is also Honest Kitchen its dehydrated (these you just add warm water to)which is a very good raw food. Its all Human Grade. They also have a Basic Mix without any meat protein. Which you can add your own meat protein!
