Despite cutting his kibble ration down to 3 cups per day and running/hiking on the island for 5 hours per day, weigh in today at 5 months 69lbs 😩 omg

I also think his body condition looks really ideal, not that I am a vet or anything. Still, it is a stunning weight for 5 months, which, I don't mean that as good or bad, it just is what it is. My youngest girl was so behind in weight compared to her peers, but has leveled out now at 69 pounds at 2.5 years, and I never thought she would top 60 into the breed standard, watching her grow up. But I also think you just got a big boy! I love seeing him and all the updates! I can't wait to see how he will develop, 69 at 5 months vs 69 at 2.5 years is kinda mind blowing for me!

he's mostly Euro with a little American and doesn't have that American tuck up.
@remy's Remy has a shape like that - thick and heavy-looking but not overweight at all, plus totally athletic, and all American in his immediate pedigree. And I think @Ddski5's dog was also American but massive looking. Mine (female), is about 3/4 Euro has been right around 69 lbs all her adult life. Funny how it all works!

I think it’s the combination of heavy bone plus not having a very prominent tuck. I swear he can look 10lbs heavier depending on the picture. 😂

These were all taken within 2 weeks or so from each other. People probably wouldn’t assume he has a defined waistline solely based off this picture/how his tuck up is. IMG_6507.webpIMG_7839.webpZoomed in on this one to show he doesn’t have much fat over the ribs. IMG_7344.webpIt’s kind of funny because I’ve had people who’ve only seen photos and say he looks heavy, then have people at shows in the past tell me he should gain weight. Personally, I think he looks fine.

@Nordika I think it was you I saw comment on another thread about a dog, Hunter, who was in the 6th gen of your dog’s pedigree. He was a pretty popular sire, but he’s also in the 4th gen of my boy’s pedigree, so maybe they have other common relatives closer up.

For my boy, it's through Cassel's Moonshine Whiskey out of Cassel's the Price of Passion, out of Cha-Rish Starquest Passion Tea. I thought there was another dog as well, but maybe not as I'm not finding it.
