This is from a few days ago but I never pulled it off the camera. It was a beautiful day for basking on the deck without getting too hot.


And yesterday it was too hot so Elroy was waiting by the door but Olive was ready to stay out and enjoy the heat.

What a weekend! A thousand miles, 4 show rings, absolutely wonderful ringside neighbors, 4 completely failed advanced nosework legs. Old Friendships bonded tighter than ever. Young friendships strengthened and new friendships planted. All in under 48 hours. Lots of lessons from every angle. Zastava had some important wins this weekend, but just as important was that this was Katyusha's first ever show. She didn't officially participate with a number but I was very proud of her for catching on quickly to how to be ringside politely and she sure enjoyed meeting and loving the show teams that have heard of her. So I share this picture and of course want to display some ribbons, but I hope you all will understand that the dog without them was every bit the winner that the dog with them was this weekend. 15 months ago I thought conformation showing was just silly and wouldn't ever do it. Back from our short roadtrip and continuing the destruction of the herding ball. For those interested, the ones for horses might have a stronger cover.

I have looked at those quite often and I agree that anything made for a horse lasts a lot longer than the dog version.

Last weekend I got my lawn mower out to just do a small section between my barn and the horse corral. I never have Annie out when I'm mowing. Mostly cuz I'm usually out there for a couple of hours. And it's kind of dangerous. But since I was just doing this small section and putting it away I didn't bother putting her in the house. When I came up to the section I was going to mow she was standing there with this look on her face! I had to stop and take a picture!

I mean, what is that? Where did your ears go? She looks so confused.

Mom, what are you doing? That thing is really noisy! And there's no seat for me! Where am I going to sit? Go get the golf cart instead!

And one more smile for the day! Only daddy lets her do this. When she wants to jump on Mommy, I'm like, no way. Sorry, you're too big! And you hurt mama. So Daddy it is!
