Random Pet Photo of the Day - 2026

one our local park districts does a Barks and Brews sponsored by the place we use for boarding. I think this was the 4th year. Humans get a couple of drinks while everyone participates in a scavenger hunt, peanut butter eating contest (which Moose won but there were differing opinions on what "empty" meant for the peanut butter cup), a tricks competition, as well as a trivia (which we won!). Beautiful day for an event and fun was had by all! There were a lot of pups but we were on the edges of the action

A sunny clear hot and humid mid day so we went SD practicing at the mall.
"Socialization", distractions, working the basics and all that...she is an old pro and this is a favorite place as she gets bonus treated with mini hot dogs sliced...she jumps to perform tasks and sometimes "volunteers" the next one to get.that.yummy.treat!!!

This restaurant is a real distraction with smells...
Anyone find the branding a little odd?
Does that dog look a little...concerned? 🤡🤣

Beautiful girls ❤️❤️

Moo and another wonderful cruise nights!
You have so many dog friendly events in your town! When I was helping my daughter clean out her mother-in-law's house in LaGrange park, I never saw so many people walking dogs! Every time I looked out the window there was somebody passing by on the sidewalk walking one or more dogs! Granted, I haven't lived in a neighborhood type setting since 1988. So this was somewhat of an unusual sight for me. I wonder if they have some kind of dog events there too. I know there's a park within walking distance and I've seen people gathered their with their dogs too. It's nice!

Training rally, I use the term "Get it in" and teach with the dog standing or sitting next to me...making left pivots, and keeping the leash short to guide what I mean. Once they learn that, I can say that when sitting at a show, and they are laying like Moose...I say it in a fun, silly voice, and they scoot their butt towards my feet.
Not sure if I am explaining clearly....I should make a video....

PS I love your dog outings, and glad to see Rubie got to join in the one! I know she is not a fan of the crowds, and you take her when you feel there will be enough space ❤️

I know my dogs have never really been trained for a dog show so a lot of my cues or commands may be different. like "heel." I really never trained my dogs to heel at my side. Mainly because we live on a large property where they are loose with me. In any event, what you were talking about is similar to what I've done with "heel.". For Annie, it means to 'come by my left side and sit.' And if she's not close enough, I slap my leg and say, "closer." And she does. Sometimes almost knocking me over! LOL I wonder if she would do it on command if she was laying like moose.🤷‍♀️

"Closer"...that's a good one! I found I use the word 'close' also....but I say it real weird when talking with the dogs...so they know I am talking to them!
