My Dobie has an odor

Kaiser is an intact male as well and I can say that there was a musky smell to him up until...say 6 years old?

To me, it's a natural sort of smell, and not what I would describe as dirty or wet dog. With that information, try sniffing him again lol, and maybe try it outside because I'm sure the scent is on his bedding etc. To help manage the scent, I would air out his bedding when weather permitted and/or launder the bed if possible.

There is also a pet safe spray you can use to neutralize the odour. Not all pet odour products are made the same and nor are they all safe for use around animals, so shop carefully. I use this one: Pet Bedding Odor Neutralizer but it can be found on Amazon and Costco sites. Note that they do have sprays to be used ON animals too, but I'm not a fan of that because Dobermans can develop skin issues which are rather difficult to get under control.
We’ve been keeping bedding clean, doesn’t really smell like Chief.
Going to try a different shampoo and was bedding again. Wish me luck!
