Mila has been spayed

Wasn't really to sure where this would fit. But I thought I'd update. Friday we took Mila in for her spay since it's been 3 months since she had her first heat. August 17th (tomorrow) actually marks one year that we've had her.

Blood work up was all normal. Doc said she was really healthy and doing well. He loves how her coat looks. Her scar is healing well too.

Trying to keep her calm HOWEVER. I need a fee extra doses of patience! A t-shirt (mine) with safety pin clipping bottom together to form a onesie has kept her from messing w her stitches (not that she had too much interest in them). But today I thought I'd trust her off-leash for a few minutes. Yeah, lol. 30 seconds later = jumping garden gate. The one ya know, I made to keep her OUT of that area? Ssooooo back on leash. smh

I did the same thing when Princess got spayed. Let her off leash and she took off for the woods. (When we lived in CT). She just about gave me a heart attack.

Thank you. My goodness I would've freaked. They are too smart and knnnoooww they're free! Lol she'd been behaving all day so I thought a few minutes wouldn't be any harm. Brat, haha.

She's such a cute girl! I agree that keeping them from overdoing it until the incision is healed is the hardest part.

:pullhair: Ugh, these dogs can make our hearts stop!! lol Jumping a gate after a spay would have made me nuts! Wow. Good luck on keeping her down! :D

Don't you just love it when the vet says keep them calm and limit exercise for 10-14 days. :spit: Hmmmm.......excuse me Doc, have you met my dogs?!?!?
They have 2 speeds, wide open and crated. There are NO selected speeds in between. :groan::scratch:

hahaha truth. Mila's is on leash = behaved. Off = woooohhhhhooooo! She loooovveesss to run laps through our large backyard when she wants to burn energy too. That has been contained for all this time, lol. Ugh. Trusted her with a few minutes here and there off the leash yesterday. Moment she does her bucking bronco routine (I don't know what that is, she does it after poopin, :lmao:) I put her back on leash cause I know the run is half a second away.

Anyone ever deal w spotting? Mila was having some old blood (seemed like clots, not runny liquid) draining. Around 3pm it happened then 5pm. Not too much, wasn't tender on tummy, scar is fine, so is she. Just never had that before.

Vet said it wasn't anything to worry over as long as it didn't continue (he'd check her tomorrow for free if we were concerned) and everything else seemed fine, her gums were all right, etc.

Just curious if anyone else had it happen.

It never happened with Della but if the vet said it wasn't anything to worry about he must have seen it before.
