Long toe

Hello everyone, last night I noticed my dogs toe sticking out, I thought maybe I missed the nail and didn’t trim it the last time I groomed him. So today when I trimmed the nail, his toe was still extending out like this. Nothing feels out yet f place and there is no swelling. Has this happened to anyone else? I have two other Dobermans in the house and they all play rough with each other I think he might have hurt himself. But he isn’t limping either

Wow I've never seen that before. It looks like he's up in the other toes but that one came down for some reason. Maybe a tendon?

I know someone with a Gordon Setter that did this. Not limping and it just appeared for no apparent reason. I think the vet said it was a ligament and it did resolve itself, but I can't recall the details. Short story - it did look very much like this, it did get better and she's a very active dog and it didn't interfere with her activities in the long run. I personally would get a vet opinion on it, to make sure it doesn't get worse.

Jazz had a sprung toe and it looked like that. No limping or anything so I let it be. It improved a little but still noticeable if you looked but as it was cosmetic only I wasn't worried.
