Kali's DNA

I am now. :p
When do we get the results? Even my husband is asking if we have heard anything yet. :D
Okay okay! LOL I just wanted to give some people time to make a guess. :)

So here you go.....

As you can see, the two breeds missed are the Pomeranian and the Shih Tzu! I'm actually tickled pink to know that she has Pom in her! The Pom was our breed of choice when my husband and I were first married! We had 3 before we got our first Doberman. The last Pom was 7 years old when we got our Doberman. I can see the personality of our Poms in Kali! Minus the hair! lol When I was looking to add a small dog to our family, I actually wanted to get another Pomeranian. But living out in the country, all I could see was a tangled mass of fur! I knew I'd better get a short haired dog like Buddy. Little did I know that I would find a matching one! :D

Me (the one with the wild hair ;) ) Duke and Tikki

Mars was spot on with size and weight as Kali is 11lbs and about 11" at the shoulder.

As far as the Mixed Group goes, some of you were correct about the terrier group. And even Schnauzer !

Whatever she has 'in' her, I love her to pieces! She has been a wonderful addition to our family and companion to Buddy. She is a happy dog that keeps me laughing! Tenacious, ferocious and never stops moving!

Kali and I Thank You for playing along!

So how did you do??? ;)

This has been so much fun! Makes me want the rest of the folks here with mixed breeds to do the same thing!

How cool that she has Pomeranian in her! That's a great picture of your Pom, your Black Dobe and you, by the way!

You know, speaking of small breeds: I know Kali is a speed demon and energetic, but one of my dog walking clients has two Cockapoos (I know) and one of them is a lap dog – I mean literally. I've never really spent time around lap dog before. I must say it is so relaxing and endearing that she actually wants to sit in my lap when I sit down. I mean that is so foreign to me.

Anyway, back to Kali.

Well I got a couple right. Kali is still the “Ultimate Speed Demon” in my book!!
I LOVE watching her run, she is a blur. :D
You did! And yes, she is the ultimate Speed Demon! I'll tell ya! I've let her and Buddy out after a few squirrels and, OMG, she just makes me laugh hysterically! The way she goes flat out and so fast! And our property is nowhere near flat like a lawn. So I see her sometimes going down the little dips in the grass and it's just hysterical. One of these days I'm catching another video! :thumbsup2:

That's the nice part about Kali. She is really both. Lap dog and ferocious Hunter! LOL she's not really cuddly where she wants to lay with me all the time. She is constantly on alert looking out the windows for vermin! LOL. But then there will be the times that she'll want to come up on my lap and just lay for a while. Or when I'm in bed watching TV, she'll come up and lay next to me. And then sometimes she just goes in her crate! I'm like, really? You'd rather lay in your crate then with Mama?:tap: Maybe she's just done for the day and she knows she's going to go in there for the night anyway. ;)

How interesting! were you surprised by the results when you received them? Would you recommend this test/company to other people?
I wasn't surprised by the Chi and Min Pin. I was surprised at the Pom and Shih Tzu! But yea, I would recommend it! They were pretty spot on and of course had no idea if I was sending in the DNA of a Chihuahua or an elephant. lol I thought it was pretty good. I wonder how it would be with someone who already knows the lineage? Would there be a surprise in there?? :wideyed:

Wow to the min pin! I can't believe I guessed that but that explains the markings. Now I want a min pin!

That's a good amount of detail in that report and it explains why she's so good at catching mice.

The Pom surprised me too. You'd think the long hair would be more dominant. Comparing Kali and Tikki's smiling faces, you can totally see it.

Almost felt a bit odd to read about an 18 year old dog. How old was she when she passed? And Duke, what a handsome guy. So you went from black and white dogs, to matching browns lol.

I might be afraid to have my Doberman tested. What if the result was not all Doberman? :lolsign: :help: Then again, when you've got a pedigree you can trace back years and years I guess the likelihood of it showing any other breed would be pretty low, eh?

18. :( That was months before she passed. She lived a long time. She was the best and still makes me cry after all these years. I guess they all do! I love my animals so much!

And Duke! What a special guy! I cried for months when he passed. I still do. :(

I found it interesting that I had the urge to have the big dog little dog syndrome and then realized that I had it before! Some people like to have two big dogs. Or even more LOL I like to have a big dog/ little dog. :) And who knows? As I age, I may revert back to all little dogs once again. ;)
