i have been using Simparica Trio on all 4 of my dogs... the only difference between them is the weight for each dog is given accordingly... one pup seems to be susceptible to mosquito bites regardless that she gets this protection monthly... ..none of the other have any visual bites.. well except me after mowing the property.. does anyone have natural remedy for ticks and fleas...is this Simparica suppose to repel .. or only if they bite... thanks for any info.. it is appreciated..

I've heard good things about Wondercide but haven't tried it myself.
thank you. i am going to get some of this in addition..... what do all of you use.. besides Simparica trio.. if you use others does it also repel.....?

Simparica will not prevent mosquito bites, however it does prevent heart worm which is spread by bites from infected mosquitos.

Personally I would not trust a natural flea/tick/heart worm preventative. Instead look for a dog safe bug spray that can be applied topically when needed, in addition to the monthly Simparica.

this is good advice... thank you

I use Wonderside inside for ants! Did not know they had flea & tick spray! Thanks! I use Interceptor Plus for heart worm, and don't do any topical for flea or ticks....We had a female who broke out from Frontline years ago, and she was miserable for weeks before it wore out of her system...so I use spray on their feet & legs and a bandana that goes around their neck when we go on trails. I've used Wondercide for a few years now.

This one attaches to your hose and you can spray around your home and grass.

Then you can refill it with this concentrate. I also use this concentrate in a 2 gallon Milwaukee battery operated sprayer. I will then spray it in my horse barn and in the stalls. I think it's 4 oz per gallon of water.

This bottle I spray directly on the dogs and their beds and such.

Now, last year I had talked to someone from Wonderside and asked if I can spray my vegetables! And she said yes. I thought that it would be a great deterrent to the squash bugs on my zucchini which always get them by midsummer. Well, word to the wise. Don't Spray in the hot sun and don't spray a lot! I almost killed all my vegetables! LOL The next day they all look like they got burnt. I was so mad. At myself, because I should have just lightly sprayed and of course not done it in the sun. I don't think everything will die but I think I did lose a cucumber. Next time I'll try and spray mostly the ground around the stem. And again don't spray heavy.

Funny you say that because I did see ants scattering when I was spraying!

Let us know what you think after you get it. The mosquitos are always thick here but this year they're worse than I can remember for many years. Our dogs still get the Heartgard but they bring so many in everytime they go outside, even though I try to brush them off when they come in.

These are just the mosquitoes I trapped between the window and screen when I closed it this morning. There are a million times more outside.
It's amazing that you have such a cold winter and yet you have so many mosquitoes! Minnesota is very strange LOL

i heard Alaska with all its cold is like this.. the short season of summer has so many flying insects it drives the caribou right off the cliffs to excape...
But here in Illinois they always say, "Oh we had such a warm winter that's why the bugs are bad."

Or, "that's why we don't have certain bugs because we have such cold winters."

I guess it's baloney. 🤷‍♀️
