Help, sick pup

I posted earlier about hand raised pup from day 1. Legend started having loose stool and started eating grass. I’ve seen older dogs eat grass as a way of settling their stomachs but never a puppy. He’s weird about it. If I tell him know he will try and get as many bites as he can before I get to him. He’s 6 weeks old. Doesn’t act sick. He threw up day before yesterday so I took him to the vet and had him tested for Parvo, worms and a general checkup. The second one in two weeks. He had his first puppy shots at 5 weeks. She put him on a bland diet, rice, chicken, sweet potatoes and yogurt. She also gave him a Rx for Flagyl. He seemed to be getting better and it’s 5am here he just threw up and pooped and it was looser than before. Also while I was gone today my 13 year old granddaughter was holding him and he jumped out of her arms onto a concrete slab. They stayed with him til I got home and watched him. He was playing like nothing had happened. Thanks

My supposition based on knowledge of other animals would be that a lot of the anti-bodies the pup would normally receive from mom’s milk he didn’t get. I am not a vet so please ask yours but probiotics made for dogs may be part of the solution. best Of luck.

You also may want to check what plants are in the yard that may be toxic and any thing else that he may be getting at that no one notices. I would stay in close touch with my Vet. Document times of, eating (and how well he's eating), potty (urination as well as poop and type of poop), sleep/lethargy. That may also help the Vet with a diagnosis.

The grass grazing seems pretty normal for Dobermans in particular the part about speeding up if they see you coming. It’s a puppy stage that needs to be carefully managed so that swallowing stuff doesn’t become a habit.

He got colostrum from a goat and he got that for almost 10 days. I'm still waiting for advice on how much to feed him. He seems to be starving all the time. When he sees his bowl he almost attacks it when I put it down, knocking it over and standing in it. Thank you for your help
