Happy Birthday to Fire! 1 year old ALREADY?!

Well, I have been away quite a few weeks. We've been doing a MAJOR bathroom remodel (our 3rd bathroom this year), had our daughter graduate from high school, and I have finally gotten a diagnosis of what's wrong with me (yesterday), after 4 years of pain & guesses (ankylosing spondylitis with components of fibromyalgia). I've been trying to cope with the AS diagnosis & learn about it. I hear the meds are going to be rough....

In the meantime we had Fire's (and Hope's) First birthday on 6/16. I made a doggie cake (chicken flavored cake with dog food filling & peanut butter "frosting") & had a little party with our dogs. They all scarfed the cake. LOL It smelled sooooooooo gross. I didn't get to Santa Cruz to toss Hope her charm into the ocean, as I'd hoped to do...but I will be going in July some time to take care of that.
Anyway, I guess this officially means Fire is no longer my puppy. But she is still my baby.
Here's a few pics. Fire got some toys & her "big dog" collar (from Collar Mania...it's gorgeous!).

Don- THIS bathroom has gone over budget by 3x (oops, I kinda got into the whole spa thing & spent my budget in the first 5 days. LOL ), has been set back by a cold, a burst pipe in the kitchen, clogged pipes in the kitchen & a dumping dishwasher....not to mention a POS car that we tried to rehab for our daughter's graduation present.
We used your tip for our travertine floor....sealing it before grouting. I found a light travertine studded with onyx. I also found some absolute black granite, leopard flower granite & some noce travertine I liked. we've tried our best to blend this all in. I also feel like I stole the sink I bought...a travertine vessel, for $50 & a travertine countertop for $20!!! I also found a custom order return shower door, so hopefully it will fit. I love going-out-of-business sales...even though they are sad I can afford to get what I want. I'll share pics when I have them.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words on the cake. No real recipe. I made a reg. cake mix but used apple sauce instead of oil. Split it, filled with a canned dog food m then topped with an all natural PB heated up in the mocrowave & some dog cookies. it was a hit. they each got a piece 3 days in a row. I also took Fire out for icecream on her birthday. It sounded totally same until today when I had to explain to the bank HOW I knew the exact date, time & store of my last ATM purchase before I accidentally threw my card away. LOL The bank teller let
a good snort out when I explained everything.
