So something I just now noticed on my pup is that he has white... I'm not sure... sinew maybe? ... exposed on the underside of his tail and at the tip. I freaked out when I first noticed because I thought it was bone. I touched it, it's very smooth.
Ever since I brought Flint home, I noticed he would try to chew on his tail and I always redirected him. I'd say "Don't eat your nub." and give him something else to chew on. I didn't think much of it, but now I'm concerned because it looks like his fur has peeled away from it.
I never noticed it because it's on the underside and his tail is short. Does this happen a lot with docked tails? Flint doesn't seem bothered minus the occasional trying to chew it, like it's itchy or something.
