Elroy's maternal haplogroup is B1 and paternal is A1b too.

Olive's maternal is B1 and paternal is A1b.

Nope.

Olive's maternal is B1 and paternal is A1b.
Same for Bonnie, per Embark (she is a BYB no papers, so thats the reason to run Embark at first).
As hoped someone shared locally so I found a male littermate, and thus have both the maternal and paternal line.

Her COI is 21% which is a bit odd to me, from an EU x EU, best I can tell.

That's really cool. I'd love to see his pedigree! C1 isn't common.

If you don't know her pedigree why do you think it's EU x EU?
Good question. I was told by son who bot from a vet tech breeder she came from NA x EU cross, but unfortunately I have no other info. No papers provided.
I just assume from the Embark map its actually EU by EU, possibly some Serbian showline from this dog in the Relative finder.

Most people using Embark appear to be listing pet names, so its pretty much a guess as to how to map BYB Bonnie to any pedigree database.

What do you think? I'm no show expert but I'd say she is a sweet peanut head with a very long body...flawed topline, not square, but a champion in couch potato competition, floaty kong surf swimming retriever, hopelessly mad about gopher hole digging,

And
why I tell anyone who asks "she is a mutant dash-hund with too long legs..."

😉🤣🤡

This ancestry trail is just that: ancestry! ALL Dobermans started in Germany, then moved on from there. So everyone who has a Doberman will show this or similar maps, just some lines went one direction and some lines went another. But bottom line, they all started out EU x EU because that's where the breed was created. The deep ancestral traits like the rare C1 likely came through one or two of the pound dogs that Mr. Dobermann used to create the breed when mixing up his frankenstein monster that we love so much. But for these ancestral lineage maps from Embark, I'm pretty sure they don't include the last 30 - 40 years of NA breeding. Could be wrong I haven't gone to double check, just my assumption. And that's what makes for interesting conversation and makes us think! LOL
