Collar-holic....

From my readings/understanding those types of collars are actually used to stop other dogs from being able to grab your dogs neck (as in dog fights). But I agree they do look vicious.

That's exactly why we have spike collars for our dogs to use if necessary. Not from other dogs, but if the wolves are close it's a deterrent. Speaking of which, I should put them on our dogs because the wolves are very close right now.

I am more of a no frills kind of person when it comes to collars. I learned the hard way the fancy ones just don't work for our lifestyle. I'm not much for the wide collars, just haven't seen too many dogs of any breed that can pull it off IMHO.
As you can see in my avatar, and pics of my dogs, I find bandanas pretty functional for most of our activities. I have something to grab onto if needed, quick and very easy to cut off in an emergency and holds up well with all the water and in Drake's case mud  they get into.
Hubby was saying he the adjustable puppy collars Rumor has been wearing just don't do her any justice. He went as far as putting one of Greta's collars on her the other day. :nono:. So I'm in the market for an everyday collar for her. I'll be watching this thread. ;)

Here's Della's collar that he made.

I should add that this collar is just stunning in real life. Nothing to do with your photography skills @JanS some things just can't be captured, they just have to be seen up close and personal. ;)

Just got a pup. Already thinking about the most crazy, over-the-top, vicious looking collar I can find. I'm liking this one:

Good luck living with this one. Welcome to gouged floors, ripped furniture and annoying scratches on your hands. Just ask my neighbor. :)

We also use just basic collars and leashes. We love the Lupine brand. They're guaranteed for life even if chewed. Although I love the look of all the fancy collars that's just not us. When we're out a flat collar and prong is enough. Although I'm really considering the keeper collars- I like that the prong is not in the trachea area and the a adjustability seems better than the chain. Maybe I'll splurge as a Christmas present.

@KSmith I started following MadCow on Instagram and he just posted some pictures of stuff he's going to release in October. I think one would look spectacular on Rubie... Might have to get her an early Bday present...

I hadn't thought about that stuff. But I think I'd just remove the collar when Ruger's at home.

Nice! I have to say I fully support your addiction!! I'm not only a collaraholic, I'm a total collar snob. I have 5 Dobermans with probably around 20 collars each. Lost count a long time ago out of embarrassment. Lol. I have Ella's Lead, Paco, Posh Peach, Crazy Rebels, Collared Up, Collar Mania, Pear Tannery, Sebastian and Co, Oli, TRUE, Diamond Dogs, Waggiwear, Dogs By The Bay and complete custom leather collars from a small bridlery in the UK. My collar addiction probably could have purchased my niece a new Honda. Lol. I have a problem, and my dogs don't even wear collars in the house.

FYI For those who don't know...Oli collars has completely gone MIA. He's not responding to inquiries on orders placed months ago. If you are interested in ordering from him, wait until he resurfaces.

On the other hand, if I were looking for a menacing muzzle this one might do the trick!

Interesting. Correct. He had said in his last post that he was going through challenges and is trying to get back on track. It didnt seem like that was the immediate future and was offering refunds if necessary. Sadly, most people had no problem waiting longer, they just wanted their collars. Here's hoping he gets his house/shop in order. He's certainly one of the most unique makers out there.
