Ugh, they can be so fast!! Not knowing how dangerous their actions are! There are a few members here that have gone through blockages with their dogs. And a few who lost the battle.
Please keep us informed on how she is doing.
Fast, yes. But more importantly, smart. I am convinced she damn well knew that I'd thrown bone in the trash, saw me do it or smelled it; and knew that in a day or two I'd have to take that trash out. She knew she'd have that small 30 second window when I set the trash down to throw the litter in. Boom. Lol. It was not on top or anything - she went in like a surgeon specifically for that bone! Calculated and per-meditated haha.
Anyway, just want to say thanks again for the advice, everyone. Blue is just fine. However she eats a lot of things I worry about. She eats a ton of bark and wood. She will leave it if I catch her but honestly... walking a pup outside, you can't prevent everything. Good thing is that she does not have the sock eater gene LOL, and has zero interest in bags and cardboard and, generally, human litter. Loves wood. Literally eats the wood, not chew, eat, I see it on the other side.
And, yes, I have read some of the threads from others who've had sock gobblers etc., big part of why I went ahead and posted this thread in the first place. Scary stuff, and some sad outcomes, as you said.
For the sake of sharing for anyone curious -- and I was going to initially post this pic but didn't -- this is the bone she got into, twice (pic is from after the first time; she ate most of what was left in round two. oof)
