BEST BRANDS FOR WINTER COATS...LINKS?

I USED TO HAVE a lady knit everything for my dogs...She's gone! ;-) So this year I need new stuff and it will be store bought (all the old ladies are making caps and mittens for the Christmas Fair)...lol.

I love knitted stuff for the "cling fit"...but regular fiber filled with velco straps seem to work well to...Money is never an object, quality is my goal...can I get a few ideas please?

I like the fleece coats. They're water repellent and very soft and comfy for the dog.

Hurtta is absolutely tops. I got the Extreme Warmer for mine and its fantastic. Pricey but worth every cent.

We did have a member who custom made them (Made by Meadowcat) but I checked her site and she said she's on break.
There is also another member who custom makes them but try as I might, I can't remember the name of her company. If I do remember, I'll post the link.

Does anyone have something like this? Does it seem like excessive coverage? For sure those pant legs would get peed on.



I often wonder if the long skinny Doberman legs feel more cold. I imagine it's like a thin person with less fatty padding to keep them warm. Yet fat loses heat faster than muscle, so if the dogs trunk is warm, would his legs be ok?

I just referred a friend to MBM and she was told the store was closed til Nov. 8th for vacation.


My dogs have a couple if different coats. They are currently sealed up in a space bag where they will remain until I decide what to do with them. Drake nor Greta had any interest in them and don't ever seem cold. I made one for my son's girl and she always seemed to find way to get it off. Dan got tired of searching the fields for it. So it is also in a very large space bag with the others.

Wow I didn't know they made dogs coats but I wear Carhartt coats all the time myself in the winter.
