Arson got his IGP1

We got our IGP1 :woot: :gun:

Yesterday at our Club Trial (Northeast Working Dog Association) we passed!!!!! Now the training is really going to begin. LOL

Marco vom Landgraf son, Arson Sicario vom Herzen on new IGP1 with an excellent protection score of 96!

Scores were 76-91-96 under SV/FCI/IDC judge Manfred Drescher.

Still a number of things (always) to correct on the Tracking and Obedience. But it felt so good.

I'm still a rookie at this sport and Arson is really my first IPO Dobe. His mom Zara just didn't have the Drive and some days I felt she really didn't want to be at Club. But Her and Marco did a great job!
Arson is an awesome dog and has so much more potential, but sometimes I feel he needs a better owner. I just need to try harder.

All three of these comments about keeping up the good work and don't discredit yourself are 100% true and I totally agree. But one thing I know now is that to look at !GP from the outside and dabbling in it a little, is NOTHING like trialing in it. This sh!t is hard. You not only have to have the right dog with the right attitude, you have to work like crazy to get them presentable even at the lowest levels and have a good club that has your back. @strykerdobe, I don't know if this is your very first IGP1 or if you've been around the block with a few other dogs, but taking your first dog to this level has to feel amazing. And it has to feel amazing with a puppy you bred. I'm with you on knowing that your dog could reach lofty goals with a top handler who knows all the ropes, the rules and has years of experience. I've had to back-pedal so many times, made so many freaking mistakes, but a hard dog just keeps going like no big deal. Love your dog and all he does for you, let him take you for a ride that you'll never forget.

That's exactly why I say to not discredit yourself, ever! "You" made it, you passed, you earned the title. Could our dogs be better with higher scores with another person? Maybe. Or someone that has more time and money and a club? Maybe so. So many factors at play when it comes to titling. But at the end of the day they are ours and it's our journey with what we got. The dogs don't care about the scores or what they are doing. As long as it is with their partner and they are having fun!

Great hard work @strykerdobe ! I sat in at an IGP trial of my friends and I know just how much work, time and money goes into it for them just preparing to be ready even at club level. That's why I jokingly chastised you a little. You and Arson are doing great ! Would love to see more posts about y'all's journey though 😉😉 (I'm sure @Ravenbird would agree) 😁

Yup! All the stories and training comments give me energy to go work some more.

I think we're all on the same page about knowing when our dog "could do better with a pro". My thing with my dog, is just that: we learn from each other, mistakes and all. I'm pretty sure my dog could go IGP3, but unless I move to another town with a club and/or win a lottery, it won't ever happen. But I also understand now how little I knew about this sport. "ah, BH, it's just heeling, anyone can do that, who needs a club to get a BH?" :rofl: Maybe if you've titled 5 dogs to a BH you could, but a first timer, nope. The more I know what I don't know the bigger the accomplishments have become. But like you say, what matters most is we are a team and it's not the destination, it's the traveling and learning on the way.
 
Congratulations Stryker and Arson!!! That is awesome news!!! I know nothing about IGP, except how intense it is, and it sounds like you guys did awesome! I love the pic of Arson looking up at you.

I would say this is my 1st real IGP Dobe. I did try at IGP first with Arson's mom for a few years. She loved the protection part but was not really into the obedience and dumbbells. We did get our BH. She was mostly from show lines. She was a medium drive Dobe. But I did learn a lot.
We took a chance and bred her with a multiple titled IPO3, multiple titled IGP3 Dobe. He also went to the IDC World Championship in 2017 when it was in Hungary and placed 17th out of 49 Dobermans.
I know a few people they have been trying IGP with multiple dogs.

For me only trying with a 2nd dog

It did feel GREAT all the hard work paid off.
 
He is beautiful! This is a huge accomplishment and I am in awe. If he loves it, and you love it, just enjoy the experience. Many of us are not even minutely close to this level!
