That's great news and positive thoughts are with you for his next surgery. You're a great mom and I'm sure he'll be all healed and back on track before you know it. I bet it will be a relief to get it all behind you so he can move on.

Damn, so sorry you had to experience this. I too am in the situation now with Freedom. Debating surgery or not. Think Archer had it pretty bad by the sounds of it, what a trooper walking around like he did prior. Amazing dog.
