That’s wonderful that you are running with your dogs. It gives them a fantastic workout
BUT rest
and recovery are essential to improve the fitness of both you and them. Just a bit of advice, run with them every other day, rather than on successive days, this will allow time for muscle recovery and to avoid injury while building endurance. Try to keep off the hard surfaces and trail run. It’s kinder on the feet and joints of both you and them.
How old is Logan now? Running with your dog is recommended at the age of about 18 months -2 years as its classed as rigorous exercise. That gives time for his
bone growth plates to be closed. As he grows older, these areas of developing cartilage tissue harden and become stronger. Therefore, if he is made to do particularly arduous exercise, such as going for a lengthy run on a lead along a hard surface such as a pavement, this can result in him sustaining long-term injuries. Terrain
and weather are very important factors to take into account.
It’s difficult to judge his age from the photos but I’m guessing maybe 16-18 months?
It’s all about being sensible and watching his body for any tiredness or lagging. You want him to be tired but not exhausted.
Set out sensible routes prior to runs. YOU set the distance and pace, not him, because he’ll keep going, trust me. Lol
Look at his performances and how comfortable he is with the distance and gradually build up slowly.
Most importantly, have fun

Physically and mentally it’s great for both of you!
