Well while cleaning poop tonight (I lucked out with that job hu? ;) lol) Congo had 3 piles that actually held their shape!! One I watched him make so it was fresh but smelly, well it's poop, but this was unusually smelly...
That said, I've been mixing their Purina smart one? Smart blend? Idk...
Thank you so much guys. I'm on speak to talk so this might be messy but I think you guys have hit on really good points. The vet if he sees the dogs 4 times a year and knowing their history and a very thank you so much guys. I'm not on speak to talk so this might be messy but I think you guys...
I agree they will never be left together unattended... When I'm gone they're crated. I wish it didn't have to be that way but it is. I'm just hoping since it's only 10-20% of the time that they right that I could make a difference with feeding them, reminding both that I'm alpha, etc. Which I...
Neegan only sometimes has loose stools. But his coat isn't that crazy glassy shine I think it should be...
Congo is the real issue. I thought before it was due to the bacon grease, hamburger grease his idiot ex owner used to put on his food (+basically anything we were eating.). I have been...
Ok, my dogs don't see the vet unless needed. That vet has seen congo for puppy shots, and then a skin condition and then his yearly shots. At the checkup for the surgery he did not deworm him. This vet is ok school but definitely not an idiot. He also knows I had 30ish horses so all my dogs...
What makes me hopeful I guess is that they get along about 80% of the time. When we had Akitas once they fought they were done and it was game on if they were ever together after that.
When ex and I picked out Neegan he was a present for me because he screwed up (again) and I was sort of like...
Not sure what nilif is?
I have noticed if I have the ecollar on one of then the aggression is better/less. I need to buy another color but it seems like I won't be able to correct two at same time unless I get a second controller as well.im pretty sure this one is tritronics and you have to...
The OEB is an Old English Bulldogge, and yes, 5 dogs a two year old and 7 horses feels like "I bought a zoo" most days.... But I feel worse for my parents who had an 8 and 12 year old dogs and then a few horses. They aren't used to a baby, two young dogs and a stallion.
We try to keep it under...
Neegan, who just turned a year I think, and Congo (just turned 2, OEB) are arguing. (I didn't want two males, long story). They aren't doing real damage just some scrapes and sometimes a tooth puncture but nothing serious (yet). However getting woke up at 12:30 am by a dog fight isn't fun. I've...
Hey guys, I know it's been a while so I will start off by saying: I moved!!!!! 24 hr drive away from the jerk who wasn't nice to me or my dog. That said, Neegan is doing great, he's still shy around men, but he loves my dad after a bit of hesitation when he first sees him. I took my ex's dog...
I didn't read all but will hippo and weigh in.
I wouldn't attempt to walk my two kids and my teo big dogs all together. Great that some lady does, but no way for me. All 5 of us would end up hit by a car, mostly because kids don't listen, not the dogs fault.
I assume this law will be enforced...
As a VERY last resort, and only something I would do so as not to rehome him, you could have him debarked. After that they just whisper/cough. I worked with a lady while working for a big breeder/kennel who had to have her standard poodle debarked. All that dog did was bark, even debarked, but...
That's what I was thinking. Leaving him on lead isn't possible as I can't carry a bale of hay and walk him. It would be difficult.
As it is I can't let him outside with his buddy the olde English bulldogge, but I can just turn him out unsupervised. He goes right for the lower barn and chases...
So, while this isn't currently a problem, it could be. Neegan has had minimal training due to life stresses bit he comes, he sticks around the house, he no longer pees in the house, and he hasn't gotten anything off the counter in a month. He now is in a crate when I leave though because diapers...
I usually soak my food in warm water (slowly letting it get less soft) until 12 weeks when they've made the transition to no water/all crunchy.
9 weeks seems going to not have it at least half of each kibble be soft.
Baby gate, smabey gate.... They're useless for these jumping bean dobes. Neegan clears the tallest wooden one I could buy without putting even a foot on it:(
I agree Jan, I just brought two crates up from the barn because Neegan gets into trash/baby diapers and the second so he could have a...
No just that it feels like a month ago. He was 10-11 weeks I think? Maybe 9. I don't seem to have a memory for animal events these days. Lol. But he was absolutely under 12 weeks.
Thanks guys!!! I love my boy. He's a stinker but he's going to be a good dog!!
I was told (and it worked well for me) to put them together at night and they aren't as aware that there are "new members". They kind of wake up with them and accept it more easily. :) hope that helps.
Seems like I found Mr no name, bought him and cropped his ears last month, but he's 9-10 months old now. I wish I could get him in his "proud and watchful pose" but these will have to do :)
Thank you all for the help with his ears!!! Theyre standing grwat when hes alert!
