    Not eager to please...

My staffies where EXACTLY like you discribed I think it’s more breed related with them but in thier standard that is actually a desired characteristic the whole head strong self sufficient I can challenge the world mentality. If they are not they are considered out of breed standard and the...

    Not eager to please...

I’d feel as if my dobie felt it was alpha if he displayed this behavior, some where the interaction has gotten blurred and feels he doesn’t have to deal with me unless he wants to. First thing I’d do is find ways to engage him and start different training games to engage his mind and NILF...

Pup already 15 weeks how about socialization?

@Oh Little Oji I agree completely as our breeder did all the things you speak of, and it is such a HUGE help. Makes the transition so much easier on both owner and pup. When you get a pup from someone who doesn’t put the attention into them it’s like bringing home a wild Tasmanian devil that...

Pup already 15 weeks how about socialization?

Didn’t receive my guy until he was almost 12weeks no issues here, he has had a couple outburst with strangers but don’t think that had anything to do with socializing since he goes EVERY where with me and he doesn’t flip out at everyone he meets. I think that window is kinda misleading as pups...

    How about this pedigree? (Altobello)

@DN2017 yes the chance of dcm is unavoidable BUT you can buy from a breeder who doesn’t have a history of thier off spring passing from dcm or dcm related issues, when you buy a used car you still inspect it and buy the BEST used car from someone trust worthy to a extent, you don’t just say well...

    How about this pedigree? (Altobello)

Another thing I may be incorrect as it’s been awhile but I believe your supposed to test for DCM every year which means there test are clear now but that could change any given Sunday, They can only test for the one gene they know to look for first off and second they actually don’t know what...

    How about this pedigree? (Altobello)

Just passed on a direct import Altobello pup myself , actually a grandson of maxim, to many mixed reviews, lots of claims of cheating and supplementing or fabrication, no first hand experience so only going off of research. Personally I’d ride the wave, and look for a line with a better track...

    Little dude won’t gain weight.

@Antman408 you didn’t mistreat him you where misguided by someone you trusted because you where supposed to be able to trust them nothing about it was your fault just take from it a lesson and now you know to research research research even the stuff a good trust worthy source gives you research...

    Little dude won’t gain weight.

I’d love to go to a raw diet but until my schedule frees up more and can stay that way I wouldn’t be able to fully commit to it there would be to many days in the week where I will have to rush and feed him or get in late and rush to prep his meal just not something I wanna do when dealing with...

    Little dude won’t gain weight.

Personally I’d Get him on a consistent diet pretty much a kiss diet nothing complex at all and see if they can space out his vaccines as much as possible you may be chasing your tail changing his diet up at the same time as their giving shots

    Little dude won’t gain weight.

The vaccines could be causing that I 100% know for a fact it did in my boy for like three weeks straight I was pissed about it considering he hadn’t been using the potty in the house at all until I took him and got him shots. Not saying that’s what’s going on with your guy but I KNOW it caused...

    Little dude won’t gain weight.

Each dobies diet is different pick what works best for you guys and a diet as @GOD'S GRACE basically put it that you can keep up FOREVER  (but seriously tho) don’t wanna start a high dollar diet and later can’t maintain it or even a diet that takes a lot of prep and then your schedule...

    Little dude won’t gain weight.

After a switch if we get the mud butt it usually takes a couple days to clear up it’s never been a overnight thing for me but at the same time the vet can only help, so even if he says all clear it’s better safe then sorry I say

    Little dude won’t gain weight.

I don’t feed raw or supps and my guy seems all fine. If I could resist the temptation of cooking what I bought as dukes food I might consider it but I see food and wanna cook it and eat  heck I can see duke eating now and something in me just says “you know it’s a good time to eat right “

@Kaiser2016 i use denta stix when I want duke to sit and be occupied for a min and not harass me,which might be why I’ve never noticed the breath. I haven’t tried many of the different acanas only the fish single, but it’s also a just in case can’t get oijen type of deal or nulo. our stores...
