Here is DPCA's list of Noteworthy Champions - highest level at multiple sports, show CH is usually one + a sport, but a few are highest level at 2 different sports. https://dpca.org/awards/noteworthy-champions/ I counted a total of 101 in all. Not many considering how many Dobermans in the...

There is another similar showing title, IABCA. Same context that dogs don't compete against each other, simply judged to the standard. So 5 dogs can be in the class and all 5 can pass. Show under different judges in weekend, and with 3 passes you get your basic conformation title. I thought...

Gotcha. I had only read the comments, had not gone to the links for info yet when I made my comment. I did go check it out and I looked at a couple of the breeds listed that are using it. Goldens are using it for education and a little bit of club income by have evaluations as a side thing at...

Exactly. And many working line Dobermans get UKC CH or UDC CH which both are easier to attain if your dog is to the standard than going the AKC route which is much more difficult due to numbers in classes, judges, handlers, and current preferred looks & styles etc. AKC CH will always carry...

My contribution to support small business! One of the only jackets that I've seen that fit her well & cover her rump! If it had been a lighter weight I would have purchased for a house jacket.

Thank you @GennyB for reminding us that there are lots of feel-good stories to be told!

A little boutique pet shop downtown. Tried on this jacket, but honestly didn't need it, so didn't buy it, but the owner of the store wanted to take a photo for local advertising. Of course I agreed.

They are such great critters and pretty comical. One minute hissing then they fall over and faint and play dead. Haven't got them out here in the high & dry, but saw them a lot in the south where I grew up.

@Wrangler, I cannot ❤️ these photos enough!!!

Looks like the Acorn Woodpecker to me - they were rather common at my house when I kept the feeders full and the suet out. My photos are on comment #1820 on this thread if you want to see more. They are really fun to watch.

But you both get addicted to each other & then you want to do more things together and different things together and you spend every waking moment thinking what else can I do with my dog? :rofl:

Same kennel that prompted me to start this thread. They are back with a halloween litter. And yup, looks like a nightmare.

Thanks for inserting this idea @Sunje & Thanks for the link, @JanS I guess anyone could come up with a game contest like this for a fun afternoon. Then as more groups started getting interested it might begin spreading from there... Might entail too much brain work for me, though! :bag: 😅

I think this is all about banned tools for training, nothing else. Someone submitted videos of Shield K9 training videos using tools not legal in Europe, so FCI banned him for that reason. As previously discussed, FCI announced that anyone can be banned from competing if they used tools to...

I *think* the main reason for UI is hormone deficiency or changes. Once you spay the estrogen levels change quite a bit. I believe all the treatments discussed here revolve around balancing that. Correct me if I'm wrong @Ddski5. So if you leave the ovaries, there is no hormone change, so should...

That was exactly the point of the day and everybody won!

I agree with everything already said. Especially regarding cruelty, as @GennyB said, the puppies act like nothing happened. I worked for a vet in the 1980's and he was a very popular one for ear crops on all breeds. I assisted in dozens of the surgeries, and yes, recovery is simply coming out of...

I'll have to nab someone else's videos or photos of other exercises - I remembered filming some, but I was using their phone for them. Here's the team of 4 weaving cones -

I think the field owner didn't want broken eggs on the agility field 😅 That smell would attract dogs for weeks!

All members. I think two invited guests that were interested in club activities and had brought their dogs to a training day, which we require one or two visits with them & their dogs before they can apply for membership. But no people dogs from the wilds would be considered. Too many unknowns...
