We see these guys running around all summer. The dogs always trying to catch them but never do. They just make a mess of the gardens, running circles around the bushes.
Six Lined Racerunner.
And saw my first toad. They're prevalent here during the summer too.
Old photo's. That red fox is unusual, as we don't have any red fox here, we have grey fox. Use to see a lot of red fox in the S.F. Bay Area on the trails. Got this photo after there were a TON of wildfires in the Sierras, I figure the fox just migrated following food, since everything was devastated where it had lived. Haven't seen it since.
My Resident Fox a few nights ago. (S)He has a den near the creek on my property and has been here for several years. I hear it a lot at night. Have seen it in broad daylight once, gorgeous red fox. With 5 security cameras and several years this is the first time I've gotten it on camera.
Monday my daughter-in-law and the three boys were here. I took the youngest, 10 years old, out to help me in the barn. Then we took my golf cart and wagon and went out back cleaning up in my pasture. When we drive past the run-in out there, he says, a snake! I'll be darn. We were just talking about snakes and I told him I have not seen one lately and last year I didn't even see too many. Usually I'll see at least two or three bull snakes like this one. Most of the time I've got to relocate them out of my barn or away from the house. But this guy was out in the back in the run-in. Not bothering anybody but maybe the birds nests that are sometimes in the rafters
. Annie wanted to get close but I kept calling her back. I don't think she knew what that was! Probably her first snake.
He went under the run-in and scooted across into the evergreen tree.
