War Dog Andy (and more)

Those were some badass dogs and Marines. I'm glad the one USMC vet campaigned to bring the dogs home instead of letting them be put down.

I have a friend who is Japanese and lives in Japan. She had a dog for a while, chained in her backyard b/c otherwise it would jump the fence. She was horrified at the idea of letting it into the house at all. That's what they think of dogs there.

I think that ideology in Japan is shifting a little.
When my wife and daughter were there in February, they saw a lot of dogs being walked, and all kinds from purse size to Akita.
Now I can’t speak to the home life, but sounded like dogs are fairly popular over there.

I hope so. My friend had her dog maybe a decade ago. Maybe people in the cities have a different attitude. She is not rural, but is in a smaller, more suburban area, smaller city. Not in Tokyo anyway.

And I have to say thanks to Wrangler here.
I’ve never seen this. I’ve heard of Kurt and the memorial on Guam.
I’d never heard the details of his injuries until this.
I’d never heard of Andy
I didn’t know there was a Doberman named Rocky on that front.
That part hit close to home.IMG_0812.webp
This was our Rocky.
Thank you, Wranger for posting this.
I learned from it.👍
