She still is at over a year. Last vet visit in late December she was 52.2# so she's not going to be a big girl but I think she'll still be within the breed standard.I think @JanS Olive was small growing up.

Pepper still has a few months to actively grow so her and Olive will probably be of a similar size at maturity. I don't mind smaller in a female at all.
I met the mom of a Dobergirl in a pet store once and she was telling me about how tiny her girl was even at a couple years old, I pictured it similar to Pepper. She showed me pics and ya wanna see adorable; that was it. Pepper has time to grow yet, also, even if the curve has slowed. She's not done. I think she's just perfect and from what I read from you previously, She's a big Doberman, even if her measured specs don't know it.What do you think about her size? She is petite. Last vet visit 43 pounds and that was a little over 2 weeks ago.
Withers about 22.5 inches.
You’re right about her being a Doberman thank you!I met the mom of a Dobergirl in a pet store once and she was telling me about how tiny her girl was even at a couple years old, I pictured it similar to Pepper. Shes definitely shorter then too. That’s what I’m thinking too she’ll just hit the breed standard which is totally ok!Yes so your girl is a little smaller. She will probably finish out on the low end of the standard at 24" Totally acceptable and normal!
Ripley:
5 months - 44.2 lbs, 22.5" - 10/31
6 months - 50.2 lbs
9 months - 59.1 lbs, 25"
.. she's 65 lbs now at almost 4 and fluctuates between 65-69. Unofficially 25.5-26"
Genetics are funny! They don't always copy their parents. She's likely pulling from further back in her pedigree and that's why breeders have to pay attention to the pedigree and not just the two dogs in front of them. You could have the most beautifully correct doberman in the world and they are a horrible producer and don't produce anything like themselves. Trendy's parents produced better than themselves. Very tight linebreeding can also produce smaller.Shea definitely shorter then too. That’s what I’m thinking too she’ll just hit the breed standard which is totally ok!
Just wild her parents are pretty big.
That's totally true! I'm also wondering if it was all the dietary upsets that Pepper had on & off for so long. If so, sometimes that can stunt them a bit, but then later when they are utilizing all the nutrients properly the growth spurt starts kicking in. Kind of like the runt of the litter catching up and even ending up bigger than some by the time they are a year old?Genetics are funny! They don't always copy their parents. Great idea @Panama and thank you @Ravenbird !!!I thought this was the best idea - @Panama posted this photo on her puppies thread. A large ziptie on a yardstick! - just snug enough to not slide down but that you can still wiggle it up or down the yardstick and the stem of it sticks straight out sideways. Then just put the stick next to your dogs front legs and adjust the ziptie until it just rests on top of the withers. I don't have any measurements of when Asha was growing.

I don't have a wicket but I'd say just a hair under 24".What is Olives height?
I just love this story! I am amazed at how Dobermans can do this (it might boil down to the people who are inclined to want a Doberman, too, IDK the correlation) while the usual suspects of fluffy, cuddly dogs lose their minds.Well, the lady and I talk for about 20 mins with our dogs about 5 feet apart. Pepper next to me in a DOWN STAY totally chill. The lady’s poodle was insane lol jumping, barking, all over the place. Pepper maintained her coolness and composure didn’t care about the other dog.
So I’m super proud of Pepper and our work! She’s been killing it!

And you should be super proud! Don't forget who get her there, either! Give yourself a pat on the back!
Wanted to share during our walk today a woman with a poodle also a puppy was walking towards us. Trail was small I had Pepper get into a SIT then DOWN STAY. I got in front of her to block the puppy, it was wild and the woman did not have any control. The woman asks - is your puppy friendly? Me- no, she’s not friendly.
