South American Dobermans

Are South American dobermans considered to be North American in style rather that Euro? The SA dobes seem to be lighter in bone and more elegant that Euros. I've seen SAs in NA pedigrees like Lex Luthor from Argentina and a Michigan breeder championed (is that a word?) an import from Von Wallsal kennel in Argentina and uses him for stud. The Brasilian dobermans look more NA than Euro to me as well. So is this a new world/old world thing? Where does South America fit in?

Well, I've been doing some research on the subject and it looks like the South American dobermans are their own type but related more closely to the North American dobes than the Euros. I love the look of the SA dobes- they are so elegant!
