And I look down at Bonnie standing 15' away, head up intently looking up slope and I think to myself- "great! She is picking it up and has spotted the other one (she has in past but not always on command...so I'm patting myself on the back- y'know, "what a great trainer IAM etc...

"
And following her line of sight...nope not seeing it..."ok, wheres the owl, girl"...nothing found in the iphone...the owls have perched on the clay cliffs in past...
i Look back, and she is stock still, looking intently and listening at the bushes ahead another 20 feet uphill...
I say the release I use on trail to encourage her to rove ahead: "ready go! Go see" and hand motion her...
She looks over her shoulder at me...still stock still...like she is asking "you sure"
and I remember to read the room...paying attention to what she senses that I dont...
"ok, what is it? Stay"...I'm about to hool her up and approach from another angle...could be a snake and now I'm curious...
And just then the little black kitty toddles out, up the hill, not worried, hunting grubs...but ready to tail lift in a second...
"LEAVE It! Good girl! Such a good girl!
And we went the other way with the appropriate decorum...
