Wow they must be running late this year. I bought an orange and put it in the fridge for when they do get here but I gave up on feeders since they just stop by for a week or two, then move on.First Oriole sighting!

I took this picture on Thursday and by Saturday afternoon they were gone. I feel like they were too small to have flown off already? What do you guys think? I’m hoping nothing got to them.3 baby Mockingbirds in a nest near my front door. View attachment 160556
They are feathered out but I can't tell how much they have on their wing feathers. They could have flown off though since many birds leave the nest after they are feathered.I feel like they were too small to have flown off already? What do you guys think?
This makes me feel better! They are feathered out but I can't tell how much they have on their wing feathers. They could have flown off though since many birds leave the nest after they are feathered.

Cool! I've been waiting and watching for them! So far its been the Grosbeaks but not the Orioles. But usually when I see one the other is close behind.First Oriole sighting! This is a new feeder for our yard as of this season so very pleased they've already discovered it. It's been attracting the finch's for weeks (which is fine) but was tickled so see this guy. We've also had a few hummingbirds stop by their feeders, too!

I heard that on our news too.Its time for "Attack Beaver!"
Is that a dragonfly larva? I got some in one of my tanks hitchhiking on some plants and they turned into monstrous looking things as they grew.We had some bags of mulch piled up for a few days, and when we moved them found this underneath!
I’m not sure! I tried looking on Google and it seems closest to a cray/crawfish.Is that a dragonfly larva? I got some in one of my tanks hitchhiking on some plants and they turned into monstrous looking things as they grew.
That's what it looks like to me.I’m not sure! I tried looking on Google and it seems closest to a cray/crawfish.

I was wondering the same. There are a few ponds in my neighborhood, so I’m wondering if a bird or something carried it? I guess we’ll never know for sure lol. That's what it looks like to me.
Wonder how he hitchhiked to your yard? Not many places to hide on a bag of mulch.![]()

Crawdad, dont think its this one but there is a story there...I was wondering the same. There are a few ponds in my neighborhood, so I’m wondering if a bird or something carried it? I guess we’ll never know for sure lol.
It looks like you did. Beautiful photos!I may have figured it out?!
My friend in town has been finding dead baby turtles in her yard lately. She called the DNR the other day and they said you'd be amazed at how far those moms will go to lay their eggs. I know they come into our yard to lay eggs sometimes and we're quite a ways away from a body of water. There are a few ponds in my neighborhood, so I’m wondering if a bird or something carried it? OMG! I haven't heard that in years. I grew up calling them crawdads but it doesn't seem to be a thing anymore.Crawdad
