White Hairs?

Hey guys,

For the last month or so Hunter has had these little white spots of hair, only on his face and mostly on one side but more little areas of it are appearing. Anyone have any ideas as to why?

I know they're really small in the picture and sort of hard to see but he has about 7 areas of the white hair, seems to just keep appearing.

Preacher has a couple of places on his neck with a few white hairs. I think I read where Ragner has the same thing. It would be interesting to know why.

Many dobes get white hairs at the sites of injuries. Scar tissue seems to sprout white hairs,and Hans has a few spots where he got bit by another dog or cut by foreign objects while being rambunctious. The size and location of your dog's white hairs remind me of bite marks. Has he been playing rough with other dogs?

Tank has a lot of these. The vet calls them "trauma hairs" from the abuse he suffered from the bastards who had him before he was rescued.

Daisy had a couple associated with wounds.
Little dot here or there.
Some went away and some did not.

Yeah I have a jack russell who he loves to play rough with, best friends but he can really get into it with her lol

Dozer had these, too. Especially on his face where he sustained an injury from an unleashed and aggressive pitbull. He had to get stitches all the way down his face. The hair that grew back along that stitch line was all white. That, and, he had a spot on his paw that was white. Just a small little patch of white.

I've been told by my vet that the white hairs happen when the skin is broken and hair regrows. Could be from something as minor as your dog scratching an itch to bites from playing with out dogs..

My Bruno has a couple but they seem to go away.

Hahahaha. I know this thread is old but I just found it and my Dobie has white hairs popping up in several places and I’m now glad to know what they are from but I thought they were sympathy gray hairs from the ones that I’m getting that are popping up during this quarantine

Same with Pepper! A few on her ear which I assume trauma from cropping. Also, a few on her underside near her private in the rust area of her fur. Then just one on her face.

OMG, I did that last summer and Kaiser seemed to love all the attention hahaha. I'm sure the neighbors never expected me to take Kaiser's care to that level LOL. Foot baths, yard baths, his paw wax, brushing him like a horse with a horse brush haha, baby-wipe wipe downs. Pretty much the only grooming of his that is not done outside are his nails - can't risk him blasting off in the middle of dremeling if someone is walking through the alley!
