Dobermans. No couch potato

At least not this one! I was sitting here looking at this ^^^ scenario and thinking, here's the little one snoozing away....while the 11 and a half year old is busy sucking and tearing at his blankie!

And a little while ago, he was barking at me to play tug with that same blankie!

AND we went outside in this windy little blizzard and he ran all the way to the back of the property! I thought for sure he would say, "no way. Let me back inside." Nope.

There he goes! He went all the way around the pasture like we do when we take our walks.



I met up with him on the other side of the barn.



Kail stayed put.


If we stayed out there, they probably would be doing this, like they do most days.

I remember at the beach a guy told me dobermans dont do fetch or water... so I had tank go swim out and retrieve a tennis ball.

Getting close to walk time.........................the eyes are open. Soon there will be an intent face in front of me. If I ignore it there will be some "waaaaaaaawaaaaaaaaaaawooooooooooo". If I still don't get it then a tug will be deposited on my lap.........by which point I will have to laugh and get moving! Yep, definitely not couch potatoes!

They "settle ", but still seem to be in perpetual motion even as they age!

Buddy is such an inspiration to all of us with senior Dobermans. I just love the blanket suckers and I love it when Albert lays in back of my legs in the evening lolling me to sleep while he sucks on his "wubbie".
