$$$$$$ Raw food $$$$$$$

That means no food at all? No treats or snacks?

Just allow water?
You would be surprised but they get used to it. Initially you may have bile pukes because the body is used to being fed at a certain time. I dont feed the same time every day since I feed once a day. I balance their food out over the week vs every day and they eat small enough meals it would be hard for me to split an already small bone meal and still have it be safe. Both ways are acceptable ways of feeding raw. Since fasting and feeding at no set time, they dont get hunger pukes at all.

Or just do it naturally. Rumor does, about once a month or so. She randomly picks a day that she just doesn't have any interest in food. She'll drink water as usual but turns her nose up at food for a day or so.

Just did our first bulk order and prep! Cost us $86 CAD for 10 pounds each of beef, pork, chicken with bone, and turkey

5 pounds of boneless chicken and 5 pounds of beef liver and kidney.

with added fruit, veg ect id probably add another $20 for the moth

so I’d say I spend $100 a month

How are you getting away with only feeding 35 pounds a month? That doesn’t seem right, my dudes fairly active and rests at 80 pounds currently and I’m feeding 3 pounds of food a day. And I give a calories supplement with his meals and I’m barely able to keep weight on him.

wow so for 86 cad you get 40 lbs total of beef, pork, chicken with bone and turkey then you get 5 lbs. of boneless chicken and 5 lbs. of beef liver and kidney THEN you add fruit and veg so you state that added another 20 to your bill. So take that off and you are saying for 66 Cad you are getting 60 lbs. of raw food

10 pounds each of the 4 proteins plus 5 pounds of boneless chicken and 5 pounds of the liver and kidney. So 50 pounds roughly for the month

my dog is 7 months old, at that age is recommended to feed 4.5 to 5% their body weight.

$86 for all the raw meat, and roughly $20 for any added stuff like eggs fruit and veg

never mind so as you state you pay Cost us $86 CAD for 10 pounds each of beef, pork, chicken with bone, and turkey

5 pounds of boneless chicken and 5 pounds of beef liver and kidney. which is 50 lbs of food for 86 CAD which is 1.72 CAD per pound Guess I should move to Canada

excuse my lack of intelligence but what does that food per pond cost brake down in US dollars

im not toooo good with the exchange rate myself lol but I know 86 Canadian is roughly 64 dollars American

the supplier I get from ranges for the meats probably around $1.30-1.80 a pound

@Antman408 I'm feeding my 4-month puppy approximately 2 lbs of raw meat a day 2 lbs a day times 30 that 60 lbs a month. Guess I will look into the Canadian diet

A raw diet that costs you under 2 dollars lbs for meat I would call that a gift from god diet. But perhaps others can chime in as to paying under $2 for raw certified inspected meat

I was wondering the same thing. I feed 4lbs per dog per day and some days as much as 6lbs each depending on their physical work demands that day. 35 lbs a month seems like a small amount when I am buying over 300lbs a month for my two. Granted they have a lot of physical activity in their training, swimming and play but many people will say they look slim even with the amount I feed. (They are fit, not skinny.) Bogie is running 85-87lbs and Bacall is at 80-82lbs.

When I was feeding raw for a number of years, I was feeding Java at 40lbs weight - 1.5lbs and Paige at 45lbs just under a pound. Java is my active dog and Paige the easy keeper. So Paige got fed barely above 2% and Java 2.5-3%.

awesome! Every dog is different and require different amounts of food based of life style, age, size ect. Gotta just find that right balance to keep them healthy, lean and fit:) just like kibble you don’t have to always follow to feeding guide sometimes you need to eyeball it and add more if they seem too skinny or add less if they are getting a bit chunky aha

once Haku is around 15 months he will be getting 2% of his body weight rather then the 5% he gets now.
