In my YouTube travels yesterday, I came upon this channel about dobermans by "TheDobermanGuy." Here are some sample videos:

Anyone seen or heard of this guy? Any thoughts?

Never heard of him but it's pretty much everything we've covered here in many different threads.

I watched the video. He sounds too robotic which annoyed me. I'd rather watch videos of people interacting with their own Dobe. And you're not new to Dobes either...maybe it would be good for someone who isn't familiar with the breed.

This isn't awkward at all :spit:
Indeed the Internet is a funny place and now, here we are :) For the record I read all your comments hearing your voice in my head
Welcome aboard!

Thanks. I just wanted to answer any question you might have, since some of you were asking if I'm credible or if anyone knew me, so here I am. I even used my real name. I also don't know any of you, and I'm in the Doberman "World" for more then 30 years, but I just don't do judgements about people with little or no prior knowledge of them. If I need to know anything in particular, I ask him/her.

About the voice... :) Well, have you ever thought about the reasons someone might have to use a synthesised voice? There are a lot of reasons... Nobody has to like the voice, I just feel sad that someone says "I hate the voice" while there is at least 2 minutes of information on each video. :)

And before someone asks: No, I'm not a breeder. :)

There are a lot of videos that are generated by one party putting together the images or video, and then text to speech software is used to provide the audio by another party. I assumed you just wanted to conceal your voice :) Or were nervous reading a script. Stephen Hawking also came to mind. All fleeting thoughts. I watched both videos from the OP and offered my opinion and that was it. Entertainment has to appeal and what we hear has a lot to do with our enjoyment of that entertainment. As someone who posts videos for mass consumption on the web, I'm surprised you consider this to be judgement. You shouldn't. Plenty worse things get said on the web.

Welcome!

I think that the internet has something in common with television. When someone puts themselves out there, they will inevitably be critiqued, and since there is that wall of separation and anonymity the critiques can be harsh. I'm guilty of it to a certain extent, but I don't feel guilty about it. Example: My wife and I are watching The Bachelor and I say "You know, really, none of the women are really that beautiful." Or, boy when you really look at her face, she's not that hot. Or, that newscaster annoys me. He talks so funny.

That kind of stuff.

Also, It is a pretty high perch on which to light – calling one's self the "(insert your example) Guy or Gal." You'd better be one of the preeminent experts on that topic or of course you'll get some flack.

But I look forward to some useful discussions!

I expect some easy judgments on YouTube, 90% of them are just that, and don't affect me at all. Not in reputable Doberman forums. You can't judge someone by his voice, and you gave a great example. (Curiosity: Hawking's used to joke with his own voice, he even didn't wanted it upgraded to a less robotic one).

Anyway here's some info about me and my Dobies:

46 yrs, live in Portugal, Europe, have 6 Dobermans: 3 Black (2 males and 1 female, cropped and docked), 2 Reds (both females, uncropped and undocked) and 1 black shelter rescued Doberman (male, only docked).

That is a lot of Dobermans! I'm closing in on 25 years with the breed but I am only on my third one. When you only own one at a time and also have to take about a year break in between number two and number three, there are only so many a guy can own. :)
