Hiking in the mountains

I remember this place!

Must I really pose on a rock?

Yay! Let's go!

He used to be uncomfortable with this bridge. Not so this year.

Who's that guy walking by...hey, this is my photo shoot!

Finally off leash!

Kaiser is happy but I'm not. This was a pretty risk space to let him run free. I played "find me" during this just so I could get him back on leash but he never came close enough. I really thought he'd tumble off the side. So that means I need to finally get involved with his recall.

Closer to the bottom. What, no risk taking now?

Guess not. Now we're prim and proper. There are people down below.

Wait up!

Hey, you're holding us back! Hurry up!

Going on 4 hrs, I'm running out of steam. But Kaiser is ready for anything! Always!

Always enjoy your picture stories. Not only Kaiser but also the stark contrast of our environments- mountains/snow vs swamps/heat.

Great picts. Thanks.

I noticed you posted a couple of times about him being skinny. He looks great! Dogs that are skinny don't have the nice muscle and you can see all their ribs. Kaiser looks lean and healthy, exactly what you want. He just looks like a young dog that will mature soon enough. Those boys like to take their time.

Beautiful trails! I found it funny about the offleash being saved for the top. Some of the lower pics I would have let him offleash BUT here in Indiana NO ONE would be out on those trails in winter so we totally could. But...it seems Canadians aren't bothered by the cold and are out in force in the winter, lol!

I definitely agree, save the offleash once his recall is much more under control. Maybe start having him wear an ecollar for offleash adventures. I don't think many dogs would realize the dangers of a steep cliff, especially with snow covering the edges.

Wonderful pics and you guys looked like you had a fun time!

I agree! Look at him here...lean and muscle! No hip bones. He looks great!

Nice hike!! How cold was it? Didn't seem to bother anyone anyway!

Isn't it nice when they learn? :wacky:
It was 41 F (5 C). And there was no wind which really helped. I brought his sweater just in case, but I checked his ear tips often and he was warm enough. He also got to see people skiing up close. He was totally exhausted by the time we got back to the car. So were we!
