2016 IPO Fall Classic
The 2016 IPO Fall Classic will be held in conjunction with the Doberman Pinscher Club of America (DPCA) National Convention. The trial will be held on the grounds of the Pheasant Run Resort at 4051 East Main Street, St. Charles Illinois. The trial will be conducted under SV/GSSCC judge Doug Deacon. Trial helpers are National Level Dominic Scarberry and Robert Haddad. Premium list is available. Follow this link for online entry. The closing date for entry is September 22 at noon EST.

The UDC fall classic is cancelled due to lack of entries.

Yeah I'm really bummed. DPCA nationals still going on but no IPO trial

I think there are more dobe people than you might think. They are just leaving UDC and going with AWDF. At a guess I would say I know at least 10 dobe people that have made the switch. There are some valid reasons because it's tough go for dobe people in AWDF. They are all about Malinois for the most part. That said, they are opening up to the doberman because working breeders have really started to produce some nice dogs. But with that came some dogs with sharp temperaments. In other words, dogs that can only be sold to serious working homes.
There are some deep divisions in our breed and it could make the future of the breed quite grim.
In my search for a pup, I talked to all kinds if breeders, show, working and even some that breed for pets. When you do that, the divide is very clear and IMHO scary.
From my experience, I would say I will see the day when the UDC doesn't exsist anymore. Is that a good thing? If the UDC continues the way they are, I would say yes.

Isn't UDC part of AWDF? When I registered with UDC I received an AWDF score book.

Well sort of. Of course they had to make this complicated. All working dog clubs are member clubs of AWDF. That is what makes titles valid or recognized. If you join UDC you are not joining AWDF, you just go by their guide lines to make trials and titles valid.
