Veins on face

Discussion in 'Doberman Puppies' started by HakuTheDoberman, Jul 8, 2019.

  1. weird I know but I wanted some input. Our boy has two very large veins that run along both sides of his face. For any dog /puppy I’ve seen I feel like they are pretty large.

Dumb question, but should this be a concern of any sort?

Think he will “grow into them” and not be so prominent aha?

Those are interesting! They are veins?

Before I viewed the pics, I wondered if you were referring to that classic line you sometimes see that runs on the sides of the Doberman's face; but those don't look like them.

    Haku is getting big!

I wouldn’t worry too much on the veins though.

  5. I’m pretty sure they are lol they get larger when he’s been running a lot too and whenever his blood is pumping a lot. Looks funny and it’s odd to look at :p

There are some major arteries in that area......along with the sinus cavities.......the way their noses work just absolutely amazes me........make sure to have your vet take a look.........

Looks normal to me. After exercise they are more prominent. The fatter the dog, the less veins are visible. So on a muscular, lean dog they are more prominent - especially down the legs (like it should be!)

  11. Thanks everyone for the kind words about Haku

As well as input on the topic. I won’t worry about it! But next time at the vet will just bring it up (cause why not) .
