Took Maze out to the park and she was so hyper nothing I did could snap her attention back to me. So, next time I will be prepared!

I purchased the shock collar to hopefully get my dog to obey my commands and to focus on the owner and not on other dogs minding their business or kids riding their bikes. I tested it out really quick by playing with her while we went out for a walk and she was receptive to it; no longer pulled on the leash. So in a controlled environment, she can focus and and obey. Initially she felt betrayed because she wouldn't shake my hand when prompted but eventually with praise I got her to acknowledge I wasn't trying to punish her, I was trying to get her to focus on ME. She was pretty receptive since.

I think with small incremental (time wearing it) sessions she will become accustomed to the verbal commands without need of a static shock.

She was receptive to a level 2-5 depending on what she was doing i.e. running, sniffing, pulling.

Nice to see someone else using a Sport Dog collar. I don't know if I just happened to get one that was well-made, but it's on its 2nd Dobe, and it's proven very durable.

Now, I'm just curious: What specifically are you delivering zaps to her for? Glad to hear it's working!

Yes, nothing like that long arm to get their attention! Just a comment in case you haven't already done this. There are some really good youtube videos out there showing initial setup and training with an e collar. I was only needing it for recall so after finding my girls baseline, (lowest setting she could feel), I quietly trained her at home until she was responding to that low stim and knew what the command meant. Just find a training method that suits you and what you are needing to achieve. That means that out in the world with distractions she already knows what is required so won't be confused or upset by an increase in stim strength if she fails to respond.
Making absolutely certain your dog knows what is being asked and how to avoid that unpleasant stim is very important. I can remember being a bit quick off the mark a time or two stopping her going after a critter and the look of "I Wasn't Going To!!!" was priceless and made me feel a bit mean.

Zaps for pulling and not coming "here". Zaps for not heeling while we walk. It only took like 3 or 4 button presses and she did not pull. But she felt betrayed with that humanized look in her eyes.

Today I will put it on and play with her so she can think of it as fun time with a e collar, Andale she won't be on edge.

Does that one come with a tone marker? She should get to the point where the tone is enough to snap her out of it.

It does but it's so low she isn't phased by it. Hopefully I can teach her the tone is a pre shock indication if the behavior is not corrected.
